a/n: I haven't written anything in 4 years! crazy! Thanks for all the reads and comments ! Deeply appreciated!

You were honored to say that you were one of the people Michael Jackson trusted in his life. You have been friends with him for almost eight years, and those years have been wild.

You met Michael backstage at the Grammy's after he won 8 grammy's for Thriller. You were friends of some of his friends and eventually you started talking.

Over the years, Michael has been through some bad things and to say "bad things" is an understatement. The press continues to bash him and write lies in their magazines. They really try to make him out to be this evil person. It really hurts his soul. He confides in you and you often have late night phone calls about everything that upsets him.

"Y/n, I really appreciate you calling me on the phone." Michael says.

"Of course. You know I'll always be here for you."

"I hate the press. It's all lies." He exclaims.

"I know. Sometimes you have to think about better things. Go to happier places." You say.

"I sometime want to run away to Europe. It's so beautiful there." He states. "I've been to Switzerland and the mountains are incredible."

"Yeah, that sounds amazing. We should plan a trip!" You says.

"y/n, I would love that!" He says.

"So, anyways. I heard you're bringing Madonna to the grammy's." You say.

"Yes. Her manager thought it would be good for us to go together. Publicity and all that." He says. "I only met her once and she seemed sweet."

Deep down you selfishly wanted to be his date, since Michael enjoyed to go to events with people he knew and could have fun with. Ever since you saw him with Brooke Shields at the 1983 Grammy's, you wanted to be her.

"Yeah, that would be real fun, Michael. Hopefully she's nice and the night is fun."

"Yeah, you know I never really like going to these events, but you know."

"Yeah, I totally get it. Well, I have to sleep so I'll talk to you soon." You say, letting out a yawn.

"Goodnight, y/n."

"Goodnight."

You both hang up the phone.

You thought about Michael and wondered if you had any feelings deep down for him, even though you guys have always been just good friends.

You didn't want to think about that because he has so much on his plate and he really needs good friends around him. People he can confide in and trust. The industry is so corrupt.

Michaels POV:

The industry really sucks and I hate how I am forced to go with Madonna to the Grammy's for publicity reasons. These events are horrific and I only enjoy going with actual friends that I like.

I would love to bring Brooke again, and I would love to even bring y/n. She's been by my side for years and I feel I don't do enough for her.

I love sending flowers, but maybe a trip to Neverland for dinner would be nice to catch up. I should call her tomorrow.

Your POV:

A couple days have passed and you have been busy with work and other things in life. Around 9PM the phone rings, and the caller id reads 'Michael Jackson'

"It's Applehead!" He exclaims.

"Hey Michael!" You says

"He He." He laughs, "I was wondering maybe sometime tomorrow night we could see a movie?"

"It'd be really nice." He says in a bad British accent.

"That sounds lovely." You say.

"I'll sleep in tomorrow and then we can maybe do something."

"Yeah that sounds great. I'm down for that. Maybe dinner too?" You ask.

"Yeah that sounds great. I'll call you!"

"Ok! I'll see you soon."

"See you!"

He ended up being busy but four days later you were able to meet up with Michael.

He picked you up in his car and you guys decided to eat out at a restaurant for the night.

"Hey!" You exclaim. You hug him tightly. You could tell he wasn't as excited as before on the phone.

"Everything all right?" You pull back, examining him.

"Yeah, it's just I ended up hanging out with Madonna again. She had called me and insisted on hanging out before our appearance." He explains.

"She's very weird. The time I was with her she was into these books. All over a whole collec- like a library of books of woman tied to walls."

You made a shocked facial expression.

"She told me she's really into spanky books. Why would I wanna see that, right?"

"She made you uncomfortable, huh?" You question.

"It was just unnecessary but I think she likes shock value."

"She laid the law down to me before we went out. She said we are not going to Disneyland. That's out."
He explains.

"I didn't even ask her to go to Disneyland."

"She wanted to eat at the restaurant and afterwards she wanted to bring me to a strip bar. I said, I am not going to a strip bar." He explained.

You rub his shoulder. "I'm sorry, Michael."

"I left soon after that, she's just a nasty witch. I told Frank that I am not doing the appearance with her." He explains.

"Oh no, hopefully that doesn't ruin anything." You exclaim.

"It should be fine, really. She was just a nasty witch."

At the restaurant you enjoy a nice dinner, and talk about things other than Madonna.

"So, y/n I've been thinking and I want to ask you something." He says taking a sip of orange juice.

"Yeah, what is it?" You question, raising an eyebrow.

"You wanna come be my date to the Grammy's?" He asks.
