"Hi, I'm Michael Jackson."
"Hi, I'm y/n."
I couldn't believe Michael Jackson was standing in front of me. I mean, I couldn't believe I was at a party with the entire Jackson family.
"Here." He says, handing me the last can of lemonade.
"You can have it." He smiles.
I take the can from his noticeably large hands.
"Thank you."
"Are you enjoying the party?" He asks.
"Yes! It's wonderful. Everyone is great." I say, as I observe the man in front of me.
His eyes are big and brown, and his smile is bright. His cheekbones are even more pronounced than Jackie's and his voice is soft and very smooth. He is also very attractive.
"Are you one of Latoya's friends?" He asks, as he takes a sip of water.
"Yes." I smile. He smiles as well, as we both glance around the party.
"Oh my god, is that a chimp!?" I look in surprise, as I see a chimp walking around with Randy.
"Yes! That's Bubbles. He's my pet chimp." He laughs, as he runs over and grabs him.
Michael carries the chimp over, so I can see.
I wave at the animal and he waves back.
I laugh, "wow, that's crazy."
"They're wonderful animals." Michael says.
"Here, cmon, I'll show you more of my animals." He says, waving his hand for me to follow him.
"This is my llama, Louie." He says, walking up with the animal.
"He's a really charming, sweet animal."
I pet the animal. "I've never seen a llama this close before." I laugh.
"Don't weird my friend out with your pets." Latoya says laughing, walking up with the rest of our friends.
"Be quiet." Michael says jokingly.
"I haven't even showed you guys, Muscles. He's my boa constrictor." He says with pride.
"Oh gosh, I hate snakes." I exclaim.
"Why?!" He smiles in disbelief. "They're beautiful creatures."
Latoya and everyone laughs, "Y/n we're going to run out for a minute before the bonfire. Legs go." She says.
"Okay." I nod my head, as the run off to the car.
I turn back to Michael who is looking at me.
"It was nice meeting you." I say.
He smiles, "You too. See you later tonight." I run off to the car and hop in.
"Ew, y/n! Do you have a crush on Michael??!" Billie asks.
"Shut up!" I laugh. "We were just talking."
"Good. He's mine." She laughs, as she batts her eyes.
"You wish!" Latoya laughs. "My brothers are off limit girls! Our friendship is more important."
We all agree, but I couldn't help think about how attractive all her brothers were.
"Plus, they're always traveling. It was a rare occasion that they could all be here for my party." She explains. "It's not like you'll see them all the time."
"Yeah, it's cool." Billie says, as we drive down the California roads.
Two hours later
We arrive back at the house for the bonfire. It's very dark out now and we can see the orange glow from the fire from the front of the house.
We run down to the fire where everyone is conversing and roasting marshmallows. There is music playing as well, and people dancing.
The drive out was to get alcohol from Latoya's boyfriend and his friends. It was kind of awkward, since I don't drink often and because I was afraid of getting caught.
"Guys, lets go upstairs." Latoya says, winking at me and Billie.
My eyes widen. "What if we get caught?" I say.
"We won't! I promise." She says, dragging us inside the house and up to her room.
"Let's hurry, I wanna go back down to the bonfire." I say.
Latoya pours the shots, but I decline to take one.
"C'mon, don't be lame." Billie says.
I roll my eyes. "I just don't want to drink right now." I laugh.
"If you're worried we are going to get caught, we aren't." Latoya explains.
"Yeah, plus I bet everyone down there is drunk too." Billie adds, while Latoya nods her head in agreement.
"Alright, but only one." I say, as I take the shot and throw it back.
The girls smile and chant as they drink more.
I laugh, "Latoya isn't this bad to do as a Jehovah's Witness?" I ask.
She shrugs, "I don't know." We all laugh.
I wasn't nearly as drunk as they were and at one point, I was the only one who could function properly.
I was starting to feel tired and sick, and left the room to go to the bathroom. The hallway was slightly dark and I had a hard time finding the bathroom in this large house.
As I'm walking down the hall, my shoulder slams into another person. I look over and notice a figure, but am unable to recognize a face.
"How funny bumping into you again." A soft voice speaks.
I realize that it was Michael Jackson again.
"Oh, yeah." I say, rubbing my eyes.
"You okay?" His face turning to a more concerned look.
"Yeah. Sorry about bumping into you. I can't find the bathroom." I explain.
He giggles, "it's the door over here."
I walk in and look in the mirror, I looked like a mess.
"You guys were drinking, huh?" He gives me a mischievous smile.
"How'd you know?" I ask, shocked.
"You kinda smell like it, but don't worry I won't tell. I've learned to keep secrets in my family."
"Thank you." I say, rubbing my head.
I stand back for a minute, still unable to believe that Michael Jackson was standing in front of me.
"What?" He laughs.
"I can't believe I'm talking to you." I honestly say.
"Because I'm Michael Jackson."
"Yeah," I say, kind of ashamed.
"I'm just an ordinary guy." He chuckles.
Michael and I talk for a few more minutes before exchanging phone numbers.
"Goodbye." He says.
"Bye." I say, before walking back to Latoya's room.
