"Our world wasn't once divided, once it belonged to one race. Soon it separated into different factions and cliques and gangs and now, the world is divided beyond repair without war. We have planned a war with the God or Chaos Llyr and Baransu the God of Bloodlust and Tranquility to begin the war. They have fulfilled their purposes and now the war is starting, Stewart. Lukas and Okka will lead the resistance to have equality and I truly believe you will help them achieve victory." Nepthys said, her words a mystifying and entrancing sound, echoing through his mind.

Stewart jolted back to reality, running to Lukas. He called for him, this fresh knowledge instilling confidence in him as the Advisor for the first time in awhile.

"Lukas! I have news from Nepthys!" Stewart called, catching Lukas's attention from a small trapdoor in the floor.

"Bruh... It's nearly 2 am." Lukas said, rubbing his eyes like he was sleeping.

"Nepthys has informed me of the path we're on! We must lead the world to true equality." Stewart said.

"Okay. Okay. Cool. But Okka is sleeping." Lukas gestured towards the curled up blue and black form on a soft spot of leaves. "And I have no clue how to get him into a room." Lukas added, grinning sheepishly.

Stewart was dumbfounded for a moment until he decided to just help his friend. He tore a few floor pieces up to give Lukas the room to lift Okka out of the pit he found his way into. He carried him in his arms and held him close to his chest. Stewart followed along next to Lukas.

"Why was he sleeping under the house?" Stewart asked.

"I think he doesn't understand that he can sleep in a normal bed here. He was born and raised Animorph. He doesn't see himself as a person, no matter how much he wants to. But we'll teach him here, like all the others." Lukas said, carrying Okka into his own room to let him use that bed for the night, though it was just another hammock.

Lukas pulled a blanket on to Okka's sleeping frame and tucked him in.

"Do you even know why Animorphs are half human half animal, Stewart?" Lukas asked.

"No? I never taught it in the school I went to."

They left the room, walking to the main room of Lukas's cottage.

"They never do. Animorphs are genetically altered humans. Humans who used to only dress as Animals. Then the science to genetically change them into animals came, they jumped on it. Soon, there were hundreds, then thousands, then they became a new race. All nation's have them. Thing is, they were starting to have kids. Babies that we're animals humans hybrids too. Government couldn't be having a bunch of animalistic babies biting human ones, could they? So, suddenly, Animorphs became servants. Slaves to us, the "superior beings". Though, Animorphs seem more evolved, having flight and gills, or horns or claws. They're stronger, faster, and sometimes smarter. So why can't we just be equals and allow our shared community to thrive?" Lukas grinned and fell onto his throne with a flourish, pulling a bong out from behind his throne and a lighter from his pocket. "Grab my bud from the box, please." He gestured to a small wooden box on a table.

Stewart grabbed it and handed it to Lukas.

"So... They were human... And we forgot all that?" Stewart asked, still in shock.

"Yes. We did." Lukas responded, packing his bong.

"Why don't they fight back?"

"We do..." Okka said, his think frame appearing from the dark. "We just get a bullet through our head for trying. Saw it happen today..." He looked at his feet and leaned against the wall.

There was silence for a second while Lukas and Stewart exchanged glances before Lukas shrugged, took a hit off his bong and held it out for Okka.

"Join us. Sit. Smoke. It'll help." Lukas let out his hit, smiling.

"W-what is it?" Okka asked, approaching timidly.

"Weed. Try it."

Okka was coached on how to use the strange new thing before he got a really good hit. He began coughing and Lukas and Stewart laughed, enjoying the way Okka tries to act off the burning in his throat.

"Now pass it to Sewart." Lukas said, smiling. "Always pass to the left." He chuckled.

Okka obeyed taking the rule to heart. He watched Stewart take his hit, then Lukas again, then it was him. They sat and talked, enjoying each other's company for awhile.

As Stewart watched Lukas and Okka interact with himself and each other, he realized, Animorphs we're human. They are human. Just a new form. The past doesn't matter. Our history isn't our present. He accepted his role to play in the war, thanking Nepthys and all the other gods for giving him the gift to speak to them and for the ability to play a part in their new history's writing.
