18: Wonderland - Pt. 3

We had a dumb idea that just might work. Because I wrote a song about Wonderland, I was gonna sing it. And because I'm singing it IN Wonderland, the music I want with it will start before I want to sing it and my voice will echo throughout the entire place.

We walked up the hill to the Red Queen's Castle and I started singing the chorus first.

I heard a voice in the dungeons and pointed to it which Mirana saw and nodded, telling Bruno and Mallymskun to come over with me. We snuck in and saw no dog, but mate, this was a trap.

Bruno activated a wire and now, he was trapped in a cage. I was the only one left free. I made sure not to trigger any traps, and made it to Jimmy... but as soon as I hugged him, I felt someone tase me. I fell to the ground as Jimmy tried to reach for me. "Laura-NO!"

The Red Queen came by and fake sighed. "Oh, what a shame. Your girlfriend came to save you, and now... you're never going to see her." She dragged me out as I looked at Jimmy, somehow putting the lyrics in his head.

He ended up singing them in the way I had in mind, with minor word changes.

He started banging against the door, catching the Red Queen's attention.
"Didn't they tell us don't rush into things?
Didn't she flash her green eyes at me?

I should've slept with one eye open at night"

The Red Queen dragged me to Jimmy, only for him to bend down, grab my hand and pull me up.

I sang a duet with him for the next part of the song.

He sang on his own again.

We both knew the Red Queen was furious now, but we pretended not to know.
"Didn't they tell us don't rush into things?

Didn't I calm your fears with my Cheshire Cat smile?

Then we both found myself being dragged away. We reached out for each other but couldn't reach.
"I reached for you, but you were gone..."
The Red Queen stopped dead in her tracks.
"She knew she had to go back home...
She searched the world for something else to make her feel like what we had
And in the end in Wonderland
We both went mad"

I screamed the first word that came next for the next 20 seconds, deafening the Red Queen and her guards.
"Oh"

The Red Queen was then knocked out by Bruno as Mallymkun unlocked the door. Jimmy and I hugged as tears fell down our face.

"I missed you..." I whispered into Jimmy's ear.

"I missed you too..." he whispered into mine before kissing my cheek.

We held each other's hand as we ran towards the White Castle after agreeing to meet the others there. Jimmy and I laughed as we ran across the grass that felt like cotton candy.

We arrived at the castle to be introduced by someone none other than Jimmy's brother, CJ. "CJ... what are you doing here?" Jimmy asked his brother.

"Did you think you were the only one who knew about Wonderland? I was coming to say hi to you after a friend told me you gave Roxie to her and then I saw you two running towards the forest. I followed and saw you show Lauren the place we used to go to all the time, Wonderland."

"But I didn't know you came here..."

"Look, you have to go back home. Everyone's worried about you!"

"It's only been two hours, though!"

"Not in our world. In our world, it's been 2 days."

"Fuck," he cursed under his breath. "I forgot the time in our world changes after an hour in here."

"And if you enter Wonderland with another person and exit without one the person you came with, it's like they were never there to begin with," I added.

"Fuck, that too."

"Let's go before everyone worries about us more." The two boys agreed and we said goodbye to everyone before exiting Wonderland.

We walked back home and surprised everyone in there. "Guys, they're back!" Hannah yelled as we walked into the door.

They all ran up to us and hugged us. We were given a lot of questions, such as where were you?, why didn't you contact us?, were you guys hiding?, why didn't you tell us where you guys were?, and couldn't you have used your phones to at least tell us you were staying somewhere?.

We wanted to tell them the truth, but they wouldn't believe us. So we lied. "We were going to tell you guys, but our phones were dead. And we were staying at a hotel for two nights."

"But you're both wearing the same clothes... your dress has some dirt at the bottom, Lauren, and your suit has some dirt all over it," Bailey pointed out.

We sighed as Jimmy said, "You want to know the truth? We'll tell you the truth." We looked at each other as we said in unison, "We found Wonderland."
