Chapter One: Leaving Home

Maia Sato-Ramella awoke to a loud crash from below. Not knowing why, she sleepily hobbled down the stairs to find her usually calm mother in the kitchen with frizzled hair and a distraught expression on her face, picking up a bowl with pancake batter inside.
"Mum? Are you... okay? You don't look too good," Maia asked with a worried expression.
Aurora Sato-Ramella shakily turned to her daughter.
"Where's Aunt Akemi? Isn't she cooking breakfast today?" Maia wondered.
*CRASH!*
Aurora dropped the bowl again out of nervousness.
"Maia, they're gone. Akemi and Ellie. I don't know where they are."

Relationship to Maia: Best Friend
Being friends with Maia for as long as they've remembered, Ellie and Maia have always been quite similar. One of the only differences between them though, is that Ellie can be around Akemi and not be annoyed, while as you'll see later, Maia, not so much.
Likes: Maia, cookies, school, singing.
Dislikes: Cats, spiders, being the centre of attention.
