By the time I woke up the sun was just rising, and it was raining still. I rolled out of bed and tirelessly went downstairs to the kitchen.

My parents were never home. Since I'm finally out of high school, they think its a perfect time to leave me behind and go travel the world. Something they say they've always wanted to do, but couldn't because I was here. When they do come home it's only for emergencies, and my doctor visits.

There's only one perk of not having them here often which is that I can do whatever I could possibly want. On the other hand the lack of sound and loneliness kills.

From the fridge I got out the milk, then went to the pantry to grab the cereal. After I brought my bowl down from the cabinet, I mixed everything together, and sat down at the counter.

"Ding-dong." A voice said that echoed throughout the barren house. No sooner than fifteen seconds Casey came walking through the door way in all smiles. Casey moved here in first grade. She was a weird kid, no one really went around her. Until one day we were at recess and I saw her swinging alone. I went up to her, and said that I liked the huge bow in her hair. After that, it all kind of clicked between us. We've remained friends every since. "What do you want to do today?" she asked.

"You're acting like there's something to do here."

"Well you're acting like this is a completely dead ass place, with absolutely nothing to do."

I laughed while taking more bites of my cereal. "It is."

"Well I will not stand for it." She grabbed my bowl and put it in the sink while taking my hand and dragging me to the stairs. "Go get dressed."

"What? No, I want to finish my cereal."

"Dressed now!" She pointed up the stairs.

"Fine," I scoffed. Once in my room I saw the pack of cigarettes and lighter. I completely forgot about Harry. It felt like a dream meeting him last night. A smile spread across my face thinking about it.

We walked down the street contemplating about what we should do. "Movies?" Casey asked.

"I don't think so, we just went there last weekend. Shopping?"

"No." She responded.

"It's not like they have anything new." I sighed. "What about the abandoned water park? It'll be perfect since it's raining."

Casey started jogging ahead, while spinning around and throwing her hands up with a giggle. "Yay! Something fun."

I laughed as I quickly caught up to her. I was thankful to have a friend like her. She wasn't always the greatest influence, but I was still thankful. Me and her tell each other everything, whether it was good or bad. But as I thought about telling her about Harry, the more that idea seemed invalid.

We got to the gate of the creepy, broken down waterpark and slipped through the opening. "What do you want to do now?"

A smirk curved upon Casey's lips, "Tag, you're it!" She yelled while heading towards the slides.

I stumbled back into the fence, but quickly regained my balance. "Oh it's on!" I said with a take off. As she headed towards about seven flights of stairs, I couldn't help but to sigh. Most definitely I was not the athletic type.

By the time I reached the top, my breathing became heavy as I hunched over with one hand on my chest and the other on my knee. "I really need to get in shape."

"Yeah you do." Casey laughed as she darted down the slide. I trailed behind, sliding down the dark, creaky tube. All of a sudden light came into view, and before I knew it I was face first on the bottom of a concrete pool. I winced at the pain as I rolled the sleeve of my sweat shirt up to see a nice size bruise starting to form. "Fuck." Getting up I brushed myself off, and walked up the three little stairs to get out of the pool. "Okay Casey, You win!" I shouted, walking over to the nearest bench.

She came out a different tube this time and sprinted over to me. "Oh c'mon, are you tired already?"

"Yeah, friendly reminder that I didn't play sports throughout my life like you."

"Aw, we're going to have to work on that." She said in a sarcastic tone while sitting next to me.

Silence filled the air as the rain trickled down my cheeks. "How's your boyfriend; Tommy?"

"Good, he's good. He hates it here, but he's good."

"I'm pretty sure everyone hates it here." I snickered

"He wants to leave this town."

"What?"

She sighed. "There's nothing here for us Mandy. We need to go out and explore life."

"Are you thinking about going with him? Thinking about leaving?"

She smiled, and nudged me. "Not without you."

It wasn't raining anymore, which was nice I guess. For the millionth time in my life I've found myself back at the window staring up at the night sky. 3:45AM, "Harry." I whispered.

Just like the night before, I slipped some clothes on. I was already wearing my grey sweatpants so I threw on a plain black tee-shirt, and my chestnut boots. I put my house keys in one pocket, and my phone in the other while walking out the door into the night.

When I got to the bus stop bench he was no where in sight. The air smelt of fresh rain, and it was love as I breathed it in. Minutes passed and there was still no sight of him. Pulling out my phone and checking the time, 4:37AM. I ran my hand through my hair and started heading towards the Corner Mark. Just as I started to open the door, a familiar voice came from behind. "What are you doing?"

"Harry!" I turned around, "I was just going to buy some more cigarettes."

"They're bad, remember?" He smiled, but it quickly dropped when he saw my arm. "What happened?" His voice became deeper as he grabbed my forearm to examine the bruise. "Who did this to you?"

"N-No one Harry, I just fell. That's all."

"Oh you fell."

His voice still had anger in it as if he didn't believe me. I put my hand on his cheek "Yes, I really did. But thank you for your concern." I laughed trying to lighten the mood while pulling my arm away. "Yeah, I was playing tag with my friend, and I fell."

He raised an eyebrow, and smirked as his entire body relaxed a little. "So you're clumsy?"

"I'm not clumsy."

Harry put his hands in his pockets and looked around as he chuckled. "Do you want to hang out? Maybe watch a movie or something? At your place, if that's okay?"

I smiled, "My parents aren't home anyway, so I'd love to."

He gestured me to lead the way, we walked side by side laughing as I told him about how exactly I got the bruise. I'd glance at him every now and then while he was cracking up to admire his features once more. He was absolutely handsome in every way. Walking home with Harry made me realize that I cared about him, just like he cared for me when he saw the bruise. I smiled to myself, this is only the beginning.
