It All Started With One Stupid Mistake

Chapter 4: What's up with Zach??

"Guys calm down, Jaquani is my partner for my H.E. assignment, we have to parent a fake baby, for two months at that, then at the end of the assignment, we should write a five page essay about our family and our relationship as a married couple." I said in one breath to Zach and Chelsea.
"Okaaay, so you guys aren't together for real!?" Chelsea questioned.
"No Chelsea, it's just for the stupid assignment." I said, slightly glaring at her, because I knew she understood what I said before but was just being difficult.
I realized that Zach still wasn't saying anything, but having a glare showdown with Jaquani.

"Zach?"i called him and got his attention.
"Yes Kelly?"he said barely looking at me.
"Did you hear what I just said?"I looked at him quizzically.
"Yea I heard you. I gotta go do something, see you guys after school." he got up, gave Jaquani one last glare then stormed off.

"Well, that was weird." Chelsea said, looking in the direction Zach went through the cafeteria doors.
"Yea whatever, thank god he's gone though, he was getting a little irritating." Jaquani respond with a glint of anger in his eyes.

"Look he's my best friend, you better watch what you're saying about him." I glared at him
"He's your best friend Kelly, but I'm your husband, who should you respect more?"he said, while raising one of his eyebrow and smirking.
"It's just for the assignment Jay!! Nothing else! Stop making it sound as if we're an item!" I yelled.
A few people turned around and was staring at our table, I rolled my eyes and turned my head away from their view.
A tint of blush creped up on my face due to embarrassment for lashing out so loudly.

"Yeah maybe it is just an assignment for now, but before the two months are up, you'll be crazy in love with me." he smirked and got up from our table. He said a quick bye to Chelsea and exited the cafeteria.

"Okay, what the hell is going on Kelly!? This isn't adding up!, Zach stormed out here because of him and all he's doing is smirking with you and going on about you falling for him! Are you not telling me something?!"she said in a frustrated manner.
"No Chel, I told you guys everything, I'm not hiding anything. I don't know what's Jaquani is talking about." I replied to her.
"Well, okay then, but based on what just happened, it seems like this Jaquani dude, likes you and possibly Zach too." she said bluntly.

Is she serious?!? Did she hit her head or something?!?

"What!? No, Zach's my best friend he doesn't like me like that and I'm positive Jaquani doesn't like me. I'm clearly not his type nor is he mines, he fits in with the 'IT' group."

"Well I mean you could be right,we've been friends since grade school and Zach never did or say anything for us to think he likes you, but don't say I didn't give you the heads up." just as she said that the bell rang and it was time for third period.

The rest of the day went by rather quickly and I was now on my way home. I got off my bike and made my way into the house. I knew mom wasn't home yet because she gets off of work at 11 and by then I'll probably be sleeping. I went into the kitchen to fetch something to eat because, danggg I was hungry.
I decided to make me some Mac 'N Cheese and pour a glass of orange juice. Fifteen minutes later, I got my food and made my way upstairs in my room. While I was eating I thought back to how, after school, Chelsea and I didn't see Zach anywhere.

I wonder where he went...
And why does he seem so mad at me...

I reached for my phone on my bed side table and decided to text him.

Zach (bestfriend💖)

Hey Zach [K]

Hey. [Z]

Where were you after school? Chel and I didn't see you. [K]

I had something to do. [Z]

Oh. [K]

Is everything alright? [K]

Yup. Everything's great. [Z]

Are you sure? [K]

Yes Kelly, I'm sure. [Z]

Okay, so I was thinking, do you want us to go catch a movie Saturday? [K]

Don't you have a family to take care of? [Z]

Huh? [K]

Jaquani and your fake baby, Kelly[Z]

Oh yea, but maybe Jay will be keeping her that day or if he's nice, we could tag him along. [K]

I'm not going anywhere with that jerk, look I have to go, bye. [Z]

Well that was weird...what does he have against Jay to call him a jerk and despise him like that? I questioned myself
I put my phone back on the table, went down stairs and quickly washed up the dishes I used.
I made my way back up into my room, took a quick shower and grabbed a gray oversized T-Shirt and my black Nike shorts to put on. After I was done, I decided to watch a movie on Netflix.
I settled on 'Little', I only watched the trailer once, so its time to watch the actual movie.

About 30 minutes into the movie, tiredness came over me and I fell into a deep slumber.

And that's chapter 4!
Zach's acting pretty weird huh? Does he just hate Jay like that or does he have a reason?
Do you ship Zach and Kelly or Jay and Kelly??
Well...only time will tell which ship will set sail first and if any will crash😋
A little spoiler...the next two chapters I'll be updating today will be in both Zach's POV and Jaquani's POV. Stay tuned.
