(Alex POV)

The wound heals but it never does

"(Y/N), don't do it!  Please!"  I yelled as she ran farther away from me.  Tears streamed down both of our faces.

"Alexander!  I have to, I want to do this!"  (Y/N) screamed back at me.  She joined the long lines of those signing up for the army.  

*two weeks later*  ((Y/N) POV)

"All forces join us on the front lines!"  A General shouted from a galloping horse.  Cannons boomed in the distance, and guns fired at random. 

"Fire at will!"

Never let a wound ruin me
But I feel like ruin's wooing me
Arrow holes that never close from cupid on a shooting spree
Feeling stupid cause I know it ain't no you and me
But when you're trying to beat the odds up
Been trying to keep your nods up and you know that you should know
And let him go but the fear of the unknown

A lover not a fighter on the front line with a poem

To fight the tanks and drones of you being alone

I grabbed a bloody sword off of a british body that was next to me.  Blood dripped from my hand and my hair blew in my face.  Guns went off around me, Brits and Americans fought with their bayonets around me.  

A brit charged at me, but I easily monuvered and stabbed my sword through his heart.

(Alex POV)

I wish I never looked, I wish I never touched

"Let me be your right hand man."

"You are qualitfied.  Why not?"  General Washington smiled.  

I smiled back.  Whispering to myself, I said, "I might get to see her again."

"What was that, son?"

"When do I start?"

*a few weeks later*  (Your POV)

"Alexander."

"(Y/N)."

Tears streamed down our faces, mine filthy from not bathing as much as needed, his perfectly clean from just arriving here.  Alex attempted to hug me, but I backed away.

"I told you I didn't want you to follow me."

"I couldn't help myself, (Y/N).  You're just to good to just let go."

*on the front lines later that day*

zzzziip!

Searing pain on my side, blood running from my hand, vision blurring, Help, please, pain, why is it blurry?  On the ground, why am I on the ground?

"Medic!  Please, a medic!!"  I screamed, blood dripping from my side and hands.

You shouldn't have but you said it
It shouldn't have happened but you let it
Now you're down on the ground screaming medic
The only thing that comes is the post-traumatic stresses
Shields, body armours and vests
Don't properly work, that's why you're in a locker full of hurt
The enemy within and all the fires from your friends
The best medicine is to probably just let it win

*In the nurse tent*

"(Y/N)?  (Y/N)!!"  Alex yelled as he saw me screaming in pain as a doctor tried to scrape out the bullet, a bunch on nurses holding me down.

"AAARRGHH!!  ALEX, get OUT!!"

'Cause you've set me on fire
I've never felt so alive, yeah

Hoping wounds heal, but it never does

And I'm at the point of breaking

And it's impossible to shake it

(Alex POV)

"(Y/N), I'm right here,"  I sobbed.  She lightly held onto my hand, her eyes half closed, her breath shallow.

"Alexander?"  (Y/N) breathed.  I quickly responded with a "yes".

"I love you,  Alexander.  Tell Eliza that she can have you.  Please, you got me?  Tell her.  Alex, Alex!  I Love You,"  She breathed.

Then she didn't anymore.

I sobbed, holding her hand to my cheek.

"I love you, too."
