I am in the park near my house. I'm holding my mom and dad's hands as we are walking in the forest getting farther away from the path. The sun is at its highest point, making my light brown hair hot. All the trees are the greenest it can be, waving their leaves at us as we walked by.

"Today is the perfect day, don't you think?" My dad says, looking into my grey-blue eyes. I blow my hair out of my face.

"It's so pretty today!" I giggled. I skip around my mom looking at her face. She has the biggest smile and the most beautiful face I ever saw. But one thing looked out of place that day. Her eyes. Her eyes looked sad and in pain. If you didn't look at those eyes she would look normal. I never knew what she was thinking that day. And I never will. I turn to my dad, hoping things will be better when I see him. I was wrong. His face was scared and full of fear. He couldn't hide as well as my mother.

The rumble of the oncoming airship startles us all. I whine, wanting to go home, to my parents. They didn't do anything. As the airship lands and floods with soldiers, we all started to run.

"Take her away!" My father shouts. My mother nods and we run farther. Screams. Gunshots. Silence, but not for long.the soldiers are running toward us. I can hear my mother crying. My tears come too, but I can't cry forever. Suddenly there are hands on my back, pushing me behind a rock. I don't run or cry. I knew those fragile hands. They were my mother's. She tried to hide me and it worked.

"We love you." She whispers in my ear. Crying even more, I hug myself behind the rock wishing they would stay. I see bullets piercing the air from behind me. Bang. The last bullet had been shot. The soldiers are moving away and back onto the airship. I peek above the rock and see two dead bodies, covered in blood. Her three words kept repeating in my head, and the anger built. I stomped and shouted, trying to get them back. It was helpless. I was helpless. The only thing I can do is run. And that's what I did.
