Chapter 20: Saluting Andrew

It was the night of the Abby Lee Dance Company concert also known as "The ALDC Concert: A salute to Andrew Miller." because they were gonna salute Andrew because of all he had done for the studio and was gonna be honored with an award at the end of the show. The girls were gonna do some of their favorite dances like Where have all the children gone, Last Text and Alouette, which was one of Andrew's personal favorite group dances.

"Mom, i have an idea for what i want to do for the concert tonight."

"What is it?" Abby asked.

"Maybe i could do that solo that won me my first national title, what do you think?"

"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Andrew Miller with the solo that won him his very first national title when he was seven years old, here he is performing Smooth Criminal." Abby said over the P.A. as the crowd stood up and cheered loudly as Andrew came out in white slacks, blue button up shirt and a white jacket with a blue armband on the left arm, and when the music started, he began to do the dance like he did when he was 7 and was dazzling as the audience was amazed, but what really had them going nuts was when he did the lean exactly like Michael Jackson did. Abby and Gianna were watching with smiles on their faces as he finished the dance, which gets the loudest applause ever.

"I can't believe Andrew still remembers the moves i taught him when he was 7!" Abby exclaimed, happy that her son still had that dancing spirit in him.

"You know it, and that lean was something else!" Gianna added, then he headed over to the girls.

"That was amazing!" Sophia complimented, she had never seen Andrew dance up close and personal.

"No wonder why we all look up to you because you are the most wonderful dancer!" Nia added.

"Thanks, girls."

Before it was time to conclude the recital, Abby's voice came over the P.A. "Ladies and Gentlemen, before we end the show, there was a dance that was choreographed by my assistant Gianna and i asked them if they wanted to dedicate this dance to someone, they said yes, so these are the girls dancing Always Unbeatable dedicated to Andrew Miller."

The audience cheered as the stage lights dimmed for a few seconds, then a spotlight hit Paige and the other girls, who were holding up a sign and on it were the words "We love you, Andrew" and then they went into an amazing dance sequence with turns, aerials and combos that no one had ever seen before.

In the wings, Andrew watched with a smile on his face as a tear fell from his eye. Gianna saw it and wiped it and held his hand softly as they both watched the group dance and the girls finished the group dance to loud cheers.

Then it was time to end the recital after the last numbers by the girls had been done and first was the graduating seniors, the hot shots and the junior team that's featured on Dance Moms aka the dream team, and a slideshow that showed the dancers growing up and then it was time to present awards.

"The first award that is going to be presented is the Mini Miss scholarship award and this award goes to Mackenzie Ziegler." Abby said as Mackenzie had a smile on her face as she got her award from Abby as Melissa, Greg and Maddie were smiling and applauding.

"The next award i'm about to present is the most improved scholarship award, it shows that and this award goes to Brooke Hyland." Brooke received her award from Abby, since April, Andrew had helped her improve and eventually she got her old dancing groove back.

"This award is the Junior Miss Schloarship award, this award is for someone who works hard and this award goes to Chloe Lukasiak." Abby said as Chloe walked up to get her award and was given a hug as Christi, Marc and Clara were clapping for Chloe.
