No one's POV

As Aizawa and y/n drove away from the l/n estate, y/n smiling from ear to ear, and Aizawa grinning slyly because he actually got their father to sign the form, which he was still holding.

The silence in the car wasn't even near as awkward as it previously was either, it was actually rather comfortable. But, Aizawa did have some questions that he would like to disturb the piece with. So, he started with the one he was most curious about

"So, you were already packed to move into the dorms, huh?"

Aizawa asked in is usual exhausted, monotone voice, the tea didn't help at all.

Y/n continued to smile while nodding, they seemed to be proud of themselves. Do they think they're sly, or?

"Yeah, I've been packed since I found out I was getting into the school,"

Y/n explained as they looked over at their teacher, who has a slightly different expression then his previous smirking one. He was now slightly confused. After all, they found out when the school year started like everyone else, but, that was months ago, and they'd only just been enrolled for their own safety. So to clear his conscience of why, he decided to ask, he's not really one to hold back too much so, he's got nothing to be ashamed of by asking his student some questions, it's technically his job.

"Well, I guess I just got my hopes up was all,"

Their answer wasn't exactly satisfying, as their cheery look dimmed, Aizawa could also tell something was troubling them now.

Flashback

Plates were being thrown around carelessly, anything in sight was used to try sustain the man's anger. Yelling was heard from every corner of the house,

"THEY'RE WEAK!"

A deep voice echoed across the room, but a higher pitched voice protested.

"THEY'RE JUST A CHILD, DON'T TALK ABOUT OUR CHILD LIKE THAT!!"

Even if their voice seemed sweeter, it somehow managed to overpower the others voice.

Another dish was thrown across the room, which shattered on impact. All while little y/n was sat in their room, in the floor above where the fight was happening, but their room was just above it, the only thing separating them from the fight was their floor.

"WHAT!? YOU HEARD IT YOURSELF; THE DOCTOR SAID THERE IS NO HOPE, NO CHANCE THAT THEY WOULD DEVELOP ANY KIND OF QUIRK! NOT MINE, NOT YOURS!"

The fight had been going on for about ten minutes, but it escalated into a war.

"IS THAT ALL YOU CARE ABOUT? IF OUR BABY WAS BORN WITHOUT A QUIRK OR NOT? IT DOESN'T MATTER; THEY'LL BE STRONG IN THEIR OWN WAY!"

The woman's voice was so compelling; it was the only thing keeping the little y/n from bursting to tears, even if their mothers voice was raised, it still managed to sooth them.

End of flashback

Y/n recalled that event all too well, even if they were so young. True, her father used to be a selfish monster, but now he's changed. They know that now because he finally let them make their own decision, and they were actually sad to see their kid grow up.

"L/n?"

Aizawa's voice brought them back to reality, but it did startle them slightly, because they flinched and jumped.

"You okay kid?"

Aizawa asked in slight concern, he could definitely tell something was wrong with them.
