Author’s Note: First of all, I would like to thank you, dear reader, for giving some of your precious time in reading this story. It’s not much at all, but I do hope that you’ll enjoy reading it, the same way that I had enjoyed writing each and every word for this fan-fiction. I would also like to thank my friends, especially to Alyssa, Alexis, Rovie, Allie, Irish and Kim who encouraged me to continue writing this one.
The plot for this story was just something that came to me after watching the movie adaptation of “The Hunger Games” for the umpteenth time (I’ve seen it so many times already that I’ve lost count). I’ve read the books in the trilogy already, but it got me thinking… what if Katniss died during the Games and it was Peeta who solely won as victor?
I’m fully aware that this little fan-fiction of mine is going to cross a lot of boundaries and it’s going to change a lot of things from the original story that Suzanne Collins had written – just like using forty-eight tributes instead of twenty-four from the existing pool of victors as said on the book “Catching Fire” – but please bear in mind that this is an Alternate Universe fan-fiction.
