A/N- This imagine is based on the song Glory by The Score. It's got a few spoilers from the final season, but it's all been twisted around a bit so it shouldn't be too spoilery. I hope you all enjoy it.
If you were being honest, you had never expected to get this close to the new Queen. You had planned for hundreds, if not thousands, of Unsullied and Dothraki soldiers protecting her, not to mention the oversized lizards she was so proud of. But you had just walked into what was left of King's Landing, unquestioned.
Dany knew why you were there as soon as she had seen you, sitting on her throne with your legs propped up on the arm. It wasn't exactly what you would call comfortable, but you had always had a penchant for the dramatic, and now was no exception.
"Y/N, how kind of you to visit," Dany started, continuing towards you with a soft smile on her lips, "you missed the battle."
You hummed, twisting to plant your feet more firmly on the ground. "Doesn't look, to me, like they put up much of a fight." Her smile faded as she watched you stand, taking a few steps in her direction. "I would have done anything I could to have seen you sitting here, once."
"But you wouldn't anymore?"
You shook your head, "There is nothing left for you to rule."
The clink of armour was growing louder, only one soldier, if your assumptions were correct, two at most. "I freed these people."
"You murdered these people, Your Grace. There's a difference."
Dany's face had become pinched, as though there was some foul smell surrounding her, and she shook her head. "You and your brother are far too similar for your own goods."
"Ah, yes-" you started once more, "-where is Tyrion?"
"In a cell." You had been training yourself for years to hide your emotions, keep them away from your face, but suddenly of that had flown out of the window. Your brow furrowed as you stared at Dany in disgust, your mouth hanging open ever so slightly. "He is a traitor. He released the King Slayer."
"He has been by your side for years. He defended you when no one else would."
"And then he broke my trust."
The room was almost silent, save for the remnants of the large door creaking open to reveal a single Unsullied soldier. "Or did you break his?"
The soldier continued his journey, moving to stand close behind you, waiting for his Queen's command. "Don't make me do this, Y/N," Dany started, her jaw tight as she watched you, "you can still come back. I'm looking for a new hand."
"Do you honestly believe I would ever stand by and watch you murder my brother? And why, just because you offer me his job?" Your hand landed on the dagger on your hip and you saw Dany's eyes follow your movement.
"Take her," she announced, but as soon as the words had left her mouth your stance had shifted. You loosed the dagger, twisting it in your hands and shoving it back and into the soldier's stomach. The grunt that escaped him soon turned into a gurgle as you twisted the knife in his gut before pulling it loose and wiping it clean on your sleeve, reholstering it at your hip.
"I'm sorry, Your Grace, but you leave me no choice." Dany didn't bother to run as you advanced on her, her eyes fixed on you as you grew closer.
"You could have saved them." Her words stopped you in your tracks, your jaw tightening momentarily. "If you had killed me when you first wanted to your family would still be alive. The people of King's Landing would still be alive. But you didn't."
"No-" you started softly, your hand moving to rest on her shoulder, holding her in place, "-I didn't. Do you want to know why?" She nodded and a small smirk found itself on your lips. "Because my brother, the one you put in chains for betraying you, he begged me not to; he told me of the way you would break the wheel, of the ways you would be a just ruler. But now he is not here to ask me to be merciful, you saw to that yourself. And I can see you for the monster you have become."
You were both silent for a moment, her eyes locked on yours as she nodded.
"I do hope you understand, Your Grace. It's for the good of the people." You lifted your other hand, dragging the blade quickly across her throat before pulling away and taking a step back, watching her fall to her knees. Somehow, even bleeding to death on the cold stone floor, she looked elegant.
