This book has some Ed Sheeran's 'Friends' vibes. Search that song if you haven't heard it. It's one of my favorites since I was like 12.
It was expected, so the next morning, when they arrived to school they didn't need to guess why the principal was in their class, looking rather furious and guiding them to his office.
He gave his 'I'm not tolerating this in my school' speech, and both boys remained quiet, already prepared for everything that was coming. What they weren't expecting was when the principal told them Taehyung had to be expelled. Taehyung, for the first time, kept quiet, and this time Jimin was begging for dear life. Jimin kept pleading his principal, but he refused and told Taehyung that he was calling his parents after that meeting and then he was allowed to go and don't come back.
The boys surely never thought Taehyung would be expelled, they thought about some other 'punishments' and a big scolding. But that was news. The principal left his office to make the call and Jimin was panicking, he truly felt himself grow in a ball of nerves and his throat went dry at the thought of him being alone. That school and any place seemed terrifying for Jimin without Taehyung. And Taehyung remained sitting still looking at nowhere. He was thinking about possible ways to come back or to be forgiven in order to keep alongside his friend. He knew Jimin would crash down if he left, he knew it because he would feel the same way if the case was the other way around. He was so immersed in his thoughts that he didn't see his friend paler than normal, until he heard it. That sound he heard very few times in his life, but that made him have goosebumps. Jimin trying so hard to breath and choking on air.
Jimin was having a panicking attack, his eyes glistening, his throat felt like it was closed and he couldn't produce any sound nor breath. Taehyung stood up in a swift movement.
"No, no, no. Jimin." He cupped Jimin's face and then went to grab his hands. He knelt in order to be in Jimin's height because he was still sitting. "Listen, Jiminie. Jiminie, it's ok. You're fine. I'm right here and I won't go and you'll never, never be alone in your whole life. It's really fine." He was expecting to see Jimin calming down, but he wasn't. His words didn't do anything on him. "I'm right here, Jiminie."
He ran towards the door and opened it to see there was no one outside to help them, not even the principal. He went back to Jimin to whisper sweet nothings to calm him down, but it was useless. Then he remembered that first time that Jimin had one of those panic attacks without knowing he was having one. They thought he was going to die, but Taehyung's kid mind at that time only thought of one thing that actually worked back then. He prayed this time it would work too even if it sounded stupid because he didn't know what else to do and minutes had already passed.
"Come on, Jiminie. Count with me." Taehyung said, gulping down. "How many numbers have you memorized?" Jimin looked a little confused, but Taehyung kept going and started counting very slowly. He was on six when Jimin joined, his voice cracked and barely audible, but he was joining. His chest was heaving heavily, but his breathing was going to normal little by little. And his teary eyes were always looking down at his friend, who was knelt in front of him.
"Thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, ninet-" both were interrupted when the principal came back, looking rather confused at the scene. Taehyung didn't let go of Jimin's hands and he kept smiling sweetly at him, but when he turned his gaze to the principal, his smile faded.
"He needs help. He's having a panic attack." He said as soft as he could, in case his normal voice could worsen Jimin's situation.
Jimin recovered after receiving help, but he got really sad when he knew Taehyung's parents had arrived to hear about the expelling and they picked him up and left. They were fuming so they didn't even notice Jimin was being treated and didn't see when Jimin's parents arrived.
"Sweetheart, you'll be fine. We're going home, ok?" His mom said in a heartwarming voice and Jimin shook his head.
"They took T-Taehyung." He sobbed a little. "He won't come back."
_______
After months of Jimin being depressed -really depressed- his dad did what he thought he wouldn't be able to. He talked with his son about changing schools to Taehyung's so he wouldn't be sad anymore, and he wouldn't be bullied -which he was a lot after Taehyung left- and hopefully his all-time good grades, that were really bad now, would go up again.
It was a hard decision for Jimin's parents, they didn't want their son around Taehyung anymore, but they surely hated watching their happy son being so miserable.
From that time, Jimin and Taehyung were even more inseparable, if that was possible. They were happy again from the moment Jimin told him the good news. And Taehyung swore he started breathing regular just after hearing those news. That awful feeling on his chest disappeared and they were more than content in the new school.
They made some friends and, yes, they couldn't avoid the bad comments and glaring from a few students when they were too affectionate, but they didn't get in fights anymore. Not after experiencing being away from each other.
Years after, they became high school students, and Jimin was finally developing some muscle and growing more, but inside he was so soft and also a little bratty. Jimin had now blonde hair that made his features look even more sweet and kind. His friend loved his blonde hair. Taehyung on the other hand, kept his natural brown hair and he looked like a whole man even when he was underage. Some girls were crushing on him so hard.
They kept kissing.
Every time they were left alone, they kissed. Just little pecks, but they were kisses for them. They kissed when they had a sleep over. They kissed when they went to the school restrooms and the place was empty. They kissed when they were home alone doing homework. They kissed because they were really good friends
Seventeen years old friends who kissed each other.
I just woke up and I'm already writing this lmao. Can vmin leave me alone? Can they stop hunting my sleep?
