Waking up, I felt the rush of yesterday's events hit me like a truck.
I groaned and flopped over in my bed.
I did not want to do today.
At all.

Getting up and heading straight to the bathroom, I couldn't wait to take a hot shower to hopefully wash all this bullshit off. But after a long 30 minute shower, it did nothing of that sort. So I brushed my teeth, got dressed and running downstairs to eat a poptart, I went back upstairs to put in my contacts and I looked at the picture in mom's chest. I quickly pocketed it and ran downstairs, yelling a goodbye to my dad and telling him I'll be at Careys.

But I wasn't. I was going to get answers.
Running to the lake, I kneeled down and stuck my shaking hand into the water and for a moment nothing happened. Then, once again, I was being pulled into the lake and started to panick. But before I could register, I was back on the same couch. Except, my clothes weren't wet. Come to think of it, before, when I woke up, my clothes weren't wet then.

"Looks who's back." Said a voice that I quickly identified as belonging to Zander.
"Hey, where's Park?" I ask.
"I have no idea." He answered. "He told me to wait here for you and he'd be back."
"How'd he know I'd come."
He cocked his head at me, "I have no idea."
He hauled himself off the wall and turned to leave.
"Where are you going?" I asked.
"I'm hungry." He answered plainly.
"You coming back." I asked.
"No. I'm not a babysitter. You're welcome to walk around or whatever."
"Oh. Okay."

He walked out and left me to walk around.
I looked at the screen full with names of people I've never heard of.

There were capsules full of black and whites suits made entirely of leather, with the exception of one with lace thrown in their. I was betting that belonged to Kristinia.

There was a weapons wall, with swords, sabers, like straight outta star wars sabers, nunchucks,
Guns,  knives, staffs and more. wow, these people are crazy

Kristinia came up behind me, "Yeah, we have quite an inventory." She said.

I laughed, "Yeah no kidding."
"How do you even have all of these, you guys look my age. What even are these?"
"We are. I just turned 18. Zander and Park are 19. These are some of the weapons our ancestors used to fight in battle."
"Yeah? Where they magical angel people too?" I asked.
"Listen, Izzy, I know it's hard to believe but it's true . We are angel warriors. I mean, you saw what you can do."
"That could have just be sleep deprivation. I mean how do I know all of this isn't just some bad dream. I mean, I could be in a coma right now. With my brothers and dad standing over the hospital bed worried sick about me. How do I know?"
Silence
"Kristinia?"
I turned to find tears welling in her eyes as she looked at a picture, my picture.
"Hey! Give that back. It's my--"
"My dad.." she finished.
"What?" I asked.
"Where did you get this?" She demanded.
"It was in my mom's stuff." I answered.
"The Red haired woman?" She asked.
"Yeah, that's my mom. Arial Laythey."
"Oh.. she's beautiful. Just like you." She beckoned me over and pointed to the blue eyed man.
"That's my dad," she said, "Vincent Blankov."
Slipping the picture back to me she suddenly broke out in a sprint, and ran out.
I was about to go see where she went when she ran back in the room holding an identical picture to mine. "This was my dads. It was in his chest."
"You have one too?" I ask
"Yeah, I think the Akaal Cassimar lead warriors get the same chest."
"Who's that woman?" I asked her pointing to the pretty black haired woman in her picture.
"Oh," she said "That's Park's mom. Haile."
"Shes beautiful." I said.
"She is. I think beauty runs in their family." Kristinia joked.
"Glad you think I'm beautiful Kris." Park's voice flooded in the room

We turned instantly to find Park and Zander standing in the doorway looking at us.
"I take it you might believe us now?" Park asked.
"Do you know how to get my mom back?" I asked.
He hesitated before answer, eyes flicking from mine to the ground with emotions that I couldn't read.
"No. Not right now. But together, us four, we can figure it out. If you're on board with us  Are you Izzy, are you in?"

Staring between the three painfully beautiful faces of people I met literally yesterday as my mind was struggling to come to terms with the fact that my mom could still be alive and she could have been lying to me, to Jay, to Scarr. To dad, and trying to put all the pieces of all the overwhelming information together and did the scariest yet maybe bravest thing ever.

"I'm in." I said.
