I tapped my pencil against my wooden desk and bounced my knee up and down waiting for the bell to ring bringing the end to my end of the day study period. I glanced over at the clock...
2 minutes before 6
I am so nervous right now. My call from Bighit entertainment is at 6:30. They will be calling me this evening to tell me whether I made it to become a trainee in their company. I have passed the last 3 auditions and this was the last- between me and 9 other girls. Apparently, they have already chosen the other 4 members from other areas of the world and Korea.
The bell finally rang. I jumped up quickly being sure to not get caught behind anyone. I need to get the first bus home to make it there by at least 6:25.
I busted through the school doors and ran as fast as I could to the next bus stop.
"Naeun!!! Wait up!!!" I heard from behind me.
It was my best friend Onew yelling after me.
"Hurry up! You're being slow!" I said laughing as I ran to the stop.
I finally got there and checked my watch.
Perfect.
30 seconds ahead of time.
"Wow maybe instead of becoming an idol you can run track... geez..." Onew said trying to catch his breath with his hands on his knees.
I laughed and smiled down at him.
"You know this is important I have to get home!" I said to him tapping my foot on the asphalt.
"I know... I know" He said still out of breath.
He pointed to the first bus of the day.
"Well, you made it" He smiled, pointed at the bus, and hugged me quickly.
"They'd be crazy to not pick you," He said releasing his hug from my waist.
"Thank you so much Onew..." I said hugging him back.
The bus stopped and I jumped on after waving to my friend and paying the fair.

I ran quickly into my apartment, grabbed a glass of water, and sat by my house phone.
I am currently 18 and I moved from my parents not too long ago. It wasn't that I disliked living with them but after high school is over, I have my own dreams to pursue... dreams they didn't agree with. They still live in Seoul though, and I visit often. My parents and my sister are cheering for me even if they think the idol life isn't for me.
My phone began to ring.
I picked it up quickly and without acting too eager,
"Hello"
"Hi, Kim Naeun?"
"This is she"
"Hello, this is Rosie and I am calling from Bighit about your final audition last week?"
"Yes..." This anticipation is killing me. I crossed my fingers and closed my eyes hoping for the best.
"You made it! Congratulations! We selected you and one other from your audition group and we will need to meet tomorrow to sort out details."
"Really?! Oh My Gosh! Wow... um... wow thank you so much... I don't know what to say."
"Well before anything else I will send you your first weeks schedule, please be here tomorrow 7 am and your first official training day will be Tuesday 6 am next week. Okay? Remember to pull out of school for homeschooling. Your semester is over soon so we will make time for that. Bring all questions tomorrow! Have an awesome night! Congrats!"
I hung up the phone saying nothing... maybe some dreams do come true.
I imagine Naeun to look similar to Jennie from Blackpink, she's so pretty! uwu
