At a bar, not too far from the largest city in Ninjago, Ninjago city, a group of adult men that seemed to be a typical motorcycle gang were crowded together watching the rather small television hanging from the wall of the bar.

The TV showed a news report about the latest major incident that happened in Ninjago city, that being a big fight between the ninjas and a villain.

"As many people probably already noticed, the villain seemed to share fire powers similar to the two ninja brothers Kai and Shadow. The villain also had a hostage with him, a girl. Sources have yet to confirm the claim, but it is strongly evident that Shadow shares a history with this villain, as well as the girl that was being held hostage. What kind of history that is is yet to be revealed, but Shadow himself seems to be very much against talking about it, which was shown when reporters were trying to have a word with the ninjas at a small conference two days after the attack."

The news cut to a recording of the conference where all the ninjas were standing on a stage as many reporters held up their hands to ask their questions. The green ninja pointed at one of the reporters and then received the question. "Under the fight with the latest villain it was strongly evident that the newest member of the ninja team, Shadow, had some kind of history with this villain as well as the girl that was also involved in the fight, is that true?" The ninjas all turned to the edgy ninja who gave the reporter who asked the question a death glare and growled, "No, the claim is not true, all it is is just speculations and nothing more. Next question."

The TV then cut back to a recording of the fight while a voice talked over it, "It has so far been a week and we have yet to gain any kind of insight on what is going on with the new ninja. He hasn't been seen roaming the city with or without the other ninjas ever since the attack and people are starting to ask a lot of questions. It is clear that Shadow is hiding something from the public and most of the other ninjas seem clueless to what that is. Except for the red ninja himself, Kai, who has shown of being nervous every time a question about the fight was asked during the conference, further evidence is shown when looking at Kai's reaction to when Shadow attacked the villain, anyone would say that he looks like he realized something which may be that he knew about Shadow's history with this villain, but not what the villain himself looked like. So it goes to question, does the newest member of the ninja team, Shadow, share a history with a villain? Why does the villain have similar powers to the two fire masters and how did he get them? Where have Shadow been hiding away ever since the battle and why? I am Gayle Gossip and you're watching NGTV." The news then cut off and the adults started talking.

"I'm not surprised really. I mean, I never liked Shadow that much, and he seems to have a lot of secrets around him." One of them said.

"Yeah, I don't think he tells us everything. Not that I care, hate the dude anyway." another one with a skull tattoo on his arm said.

In the corner of the bar, a dark figure sat by a table, hearing everything the adults said. The figure was wearing a black hoodie that had the hood pulled up, hiding most of his face, his black jeans were ripped and his black shoes were a bit dusty. The figure was giving off a smell of smoke, almost as if he had been burning. No one bothered going near him because he gave off a vibe that said: "leave me the fuck alone before I break your bones".

"But do any of you guys believe the fake story he pulled when he revealed himself to the public, that whole story about his past, honestly I think it's just a big fat lie." One adult that was wearing a pair of sunglasses growled.

When hearing this, the figure flinched and exhaled a gasp of some sort. He then smirked and spoke up so the adults could hear him, "So you think all he said was a lie?" His tone sent shivers down some of the adults' spines.
