"Wake up, honey. It's your birthday." I hear my mums soft voice as I rub my eyes. "I'll be downstairs, you get ready Tay.." She says, staring at her newly 16 year-old daughter before leaving my room. I push myself up from my bed and drag myself towards the mirror. My wavy dusty blonde hair reaches my waist. "I look like the dead.." I breathe, stretching my arms. I hop in the shower and the cool water hitting against my skin is refreshing.
Friday. Today was another day at school. It's an all werewolf school in the pack, Helena. I am part of Helena pack and so is my family. I get out of the shower and pull on a white jumper, black skinny jeans and white converse. Tank tops and shorts aren't really my thing plus, I wouldn't want to ruin them if I had to shift..
I run downstairs to see my mother and my brother, Chase, with his mate, Clover. Chase and Clover are both 18 and met each other a couple of months ago, and yes, they are bonded. *shudder*
"Happy birthday Tay!" My brother shouts.
"Happy birthday, Taylor!" Clover said before handing me a small gift.
"Open it"
I open the delicate ribbon and unwrap the glittery paper.
"It's beautiful.." I gasp, pulling out a gold necklace with a charm that reads 'Taylor'.
"I knew you'd love it." She says, sighing with what seems to be relief.
My mother refuses to get me anything for my birthday as she says she gave me "the gift of life"
I thank them all before grabbing lunch and walking out the door towards school.
