Chapter 27

Taylor

After hearing the growling in the woods, all I saw was black. I had passed out. I don't see how that's possible though.

I open my eyes, expecting to be in a cell or some sort of padlocked room. Instead, I appear to be in a bedroom.
Suddenly, the door swings open. I close my eyes, pretending to be asleep so the intruder doesn't disturb me.

"I know you're awake, luna." The voice is rough, definitely male.
I open my eyes and sit up, to observe the male. He isn't a wolf but he feels familiar. He has power radiating of him, obviously an alpha of some sort.

Could he be Tate?

No, he can't be.

He is tall with longish, blonde hair and piercing green eyes. I would say he was good looking if he was my mate and wasn't smirking at me.
Wait.

"To answer your question, yes I am Tate. Your wolf feels calm, doesn't it? That's because you're one of us - a detonat, and I am your mate." He takes a step towards me and stares right into my eyes.

His eyes are perfect, just beautiful- what am I saying? I have a mate.

"I am not your mate, and I am not a detonat." I move as far away from him but, am stopped by the back of the bed.

"I'll explain to you, Taylor. You can shift into multiple animals, like me, and all other mix shifters. Making you, like us. You are special, you are part mix shifter part wolf, which is why, Cody is your wolf's mate and I am your shifters mate. As my mate, you will be joining my 'pack' the detonats." He wasn't lying, I could tell through... The mate bond?

"What if I don't want to stay here?"

"I'm afraid, you have no choice. I've waited too long for you, Taylor."

"Cody will find me. He'll save me."

"I'm sure he will, right after he's done with all those other girls."

Tate was smirking, knowing he had won this argument. He was right. How do I know if Cody will even bother looking for me. He pretty much has every unmarked girl chasing after him. Tate seems weird, and I do not trust him at all. Especially now he's kidnapping me. He's not exactly forcing me anywhere but, he's not going to let me leave either. I can't help but feel drawn to him though. Stupid mate bond. My wolf is weary of him too but she can't deny the bond.

Trying to process the information, I begin to talk again, covering up my nervousness is useless as my hands are trembling anyway.

"Tate? I've given up on mates.. Cody easily got with someone else. I don't want a mate. Can I please leave?"
I know leaving would mean I'd be a rogue as there's no way I'm going back to Cody.

"I'm sorry, Taylor. I can't let you leave. My shifter loves you just as much as I do. As he's an alpha, he's an ass and will not let you leave, no matter what.." He actually looked ashamed.
Maybe he wasn't so bad..
Maybe.

// sooo.... How was it? I'm almost certain this chapter is longer than the others.
