The men's first reflex were to protect themselves so they let go of the two girls. Two riders approached them at a full gallop dressed for war."It's a bloody woman" One of the man screamed in terror shortly before his throat was slit by said woman. The tall figure which made the huge black horse look like a small pony.
Her company, a younger man with black hair fought against a man not bothering to dismount his horse. He wasn't much of a great fighter Jenny saw that, clumsy with a sword.
"Stay here" She told Sansa as she stood up approaching one of the man. Jenny took her chance to let her fury show.
"Are you mad?" Sansa whisper-yelled at her friend while she didn't move an inch. Jenny just punched a man in the face without thinking about it. It was clear that he returned the favor. From the corner of her eye she saw Theon frozen in shock. He was terrified or didn't know what to do. The pain in her face was terrible but nothing compared to the other wounds on her body. The next punch brought her to the floor.
"Back at Winterfell I'll teach you some rules by myself" The man promised furiously with his eyes wide open as his hand closed around her neck. In second he started to choke the live out of her.
Her hand wandered under her skirt pulling it up making the man look down confused. As if she was offering herself to the man in a normal state of mind. He figured out that he was in danger when he identified the dagger. Before he could think about it or identity the danger she sunk it in his head through the holes in his helmet.
The big woman had the fight under control while many dead man were laying on the light snow soaking it with blood and making it melt. Almost all of them were down except for two. The blonde woman was about to take the life of a man which was trapped under his horse now. Jenny knew that horse she had spent hours with cleaning it because lord Bolton wanted it fully white without any traces of dark spots from laying in its excrements in the crowded stable. While the woman killed another man the younger boy got disarmed by the man he had been fighting or better tried to. If Jenny wouldn't have put her dagger through the mans neck the younger man would be dead. She watched the man grip his neck with the hole in it making terrible gurgling noises while he still moved a little. Blood came out of his mouth as he tried to cough. She held her hand out for the young man on the floor to help him up. With wide eyes he took her hand. She looked straight into his brown eyes which looked like dark olives in the light. His hair was clean and black just like the small beard on his face. His hands were rough but yet softer than hers from working in Winterfell. A castle she once called the most beautiful and peaceful. She calmly cleaned her dagger on the coughing mans clothing. The young man looked at the girl in shock. Her dirty figure was beautiful with a thick layer of mud all over.
"Is he really dead?" The young brown haired man asked as the man still made a little noise. He couldn't take his eyes off the obviously suffering man.
"He is drowning in his on blood" She observed calmly as the dagger reclaimed his old place underneath her skirt."Now he's dead" Jenny mumbled as she turned to go to the other man. One of them wore a pretty fur coat. The young woman turned the dead body around to remove it and hang it around her own shoulders. From another man she took the coat to bring it Sansa so she could also change into it. The Stark girl looked terrified at her friend. She had never seen Jenny killing anyone even though it hadn't been her first kill. She knew it but she had never seen it with her own eyes. The girl stood up taking the coat while the big woman kneeled in front of Sansa who couldn't bring herself to wrap the dead mans coat around her. She would rather freeze to death than wear that coat. Jenny already changed her coats and she immediately felt warmer as the mountain hare fur brushed against her skin. Theon stood next to Jenny as the woman started to swear an oath. The young girls eyes traveled to the woman and then to her sword. Her blood froze colder than the snow as she saw the head of it. A proud lion. It was valyrian steel she could tell that but it didn't looked like it was made 600 years ago more like newly smithed. Then her eyes went to the man whose live she just saved. Her stomach knotted violently as the news plopped up in her head.
"I swear it by the-" Sansa spoke as Jenny interrupted her going in fight mode.
"You two are Lannister! I know that sword and that squire! Who sends you?" She asked furiously while her eyes flickered between the woman and the young man. She tried to remember his name but just couldn't find it in her head. "Peter is your name. You used to be Tyrion Lannister's squire. And that damn sword is made out off ice ;Ned Starks Sword. I know that because I have the dagger that was made from the same sword"
"What do you want?" Sansa asked terrified as her thoughts traveled back to Kingslanding. She immediately stepped behind her friend to hide because Jenny was obviously able to protect her. Or so she believed after seeing her handle the blade.
"I have sworn an oath to your mother to protect you" The tall woman stated.
"But why do you have that sword? Jamie wouldn't ever give that sword away" The young girl stated like she knew the man very well. The boy used that as an opportunity to have a look at the girl. She wasn't bad looking at all just in terrible condition. Her hair was covered in dirt and blood so he couldn't tell the color but it looked like a blonde tone or maybe a light brown, he wasn't sure. She was tall but very skinny probably starved by the Bolton. Her face had beautiful features but was also covered in a lot of dirt. Just her lips and her blue eyes caught his eyes. It seemed like she could spear him with her bright blue eyes.
"It's borrowed. It's name is oathkeeper and it is made to protect Sansa or it was given to me to protect her" She said with honesty. With her eyes still in suspicious slits Jenny allowed Sansa to finish the oath. "I'm Brienne" She said with her eyes locked on Jenny. The young stared at her provocatively.
"Of Tharth" Jenny finished while everything found it's place in her head. Everything started to make sense. The puzzle pieces started to connect.
The tall woman and her company wouldn't be a danger for the two. Or at least not for Sansa. Jenny couldn't tell just yet if she would like the company or not.
