The Family Heirloom

Me and Nicolas were standing about thirteen to sixteen feet away from the group

"Just act normal." I said " I have noticed you have a hard time dealing with new people and making friends. Just stay over here and wait for me to wave for you."

"Okay." Nicolas said

I run over to my group.

"Good morning Kaden." Kaley said happily " Who is that?"

"It's somebody I met while I was out. Look, he has a hard time getting to know people." I say " Just give him time. He will come around eventually."

I walk past Kaley to Jack

"Hey Jack!" I say happily, waving my left hand

"Hey Kaden!" Jack said back happily " Who's that?"

Jack was pointing at Nicolas.

"He's a person I met while I was out." I say "He's become a friend with me. Well at least, I think he's my friend."

"Oh. Okay." Jack replied "Oh also, look at what I found while I was out!"

Jack puts out his right hand and opens his hand. I take a look at it and feel sorrow.

"Where did you find this?" I say, my voice shaking

"I found it out near what looked like an old campsite that a human must've abandoned." Jack said " The abandonment looked recent."

"May I hold it?" I asked, my voice completely shaking

"Sure..." Jack said, looking at me with a concerned look

He drops it into my hand. I sit down on the grass near the Digibyte tree. I feel tears start to well up near my eyes.

'The Long Family Heirloom...' I think to myself ' The last person in my family to have this was my mom...'

It was a necklace that had an Emerald sitting in the middle of a tear shaped outline made of silver. The emerald had the mythological emblem for dragons drawn in black into it.

"Kaden... What is it about that necklace that makes you cry?" Jack asked

"I suppose I let you in on a secret I have been holding from you." I say still looking at the Long family Heirloom.

"Okay. I will listen." Jack said

"I... I wasn't... I wasn't always a Digimon." I say, keeping my head in the direction of the necklace, closing my eyes

"Stop joking Kaden!" Jack said playfully "Me and you both know that that can't happen!"

"I wish that was true..." I say standing up, looking Jack in the eye

"Wait... You mean your not joking!?" Jack said, looking a little serious

"Yes..." I said, holding the necklace out " This is my Family Heirloom."

"What!?" Jack exclaimed, backing up a foot "You seriously aren't joking with me."

"I know it may sound crazy, but look at where we are." I say, pointing out the Digital World "Anything can happen now."

I then remembered the task at hand.

"Jack. We can focus on this later, but there are more pressing matters at hand!" I say with panic in my voice " There is a lone Renamon headed our way that may attack us!"

"And? It's only one Renamon." Jack said " We can deal with it."

"That single Renamon took out a team of three Digimon. I am pretty sure that it could take out all of us. I am not sure if it's docile or not, but I don't want to stick around to wait for the results." I say anxiously and angrily
