Felicity sat next to Alex on the way to the lake, he let her be squished next to the window while Dariush spread his legs enough to make Alex want to sit in his new friend's lap. The talked quietly on the way to canoeing, something neither of them wanted to do, about the stars. Felicity told him about her sister would tell her the names of the starts every night and how her parents used to work for NASA. He asked what happened to them, Felicity looked at her lap and couldn't answer. Alex didn't pressed any further, instead her weaved his arm through hers and held her hand pancake style. He didn't know why he felt so comfortable around Felicity, but the platonic love he had grew for her everyone second.

Felicity gave him a weak smile when he squished their palms together, feeling the friendship pulse between their sweaty palms. She ddidn't feel so well anymore.

When Logan stopped the van, Felicity clambered out after Alex and walked beside him to the lake.

"Ah, sorry guys, some kid shit the canoe while shooting the rapids."

Felicity scrunched her nose and dug her hands into her pockets, the khaki shorts were identical to the ones she wore yesterday but her top had changed to a more breezy hawaiian shirt tucked into them. Alex liked the loud, purple shirt on her; he thought the color brought out the blue in her eyes.

"Hey, Cosmo, we're gonna need the second hose down here! It'll just be a few more minutes," the lady counselor reassured them not so well. Her hands were on her hips and her face was scrunched to keep the sun out of her eyes. Felicity figured she should've just wore sunglasses if the hat on her head really did nothing. She brushed her bangs around as her forehead itched and glanced beside her at Alex, a habit she had already developed; checking on the redhead every moment she had.

"What? Ain't nobody scared of a little poo," Logan argued with the woman  his face distraught. Had they really come all this way just for a shitstorm to postpone it?

"Okay," the woman defended herself,"I am deathly afraid of a lot of poo. It's more poo than canoe in there."

"Gross," Felicity started to walk away to get away from the disgusting conversation behind her. Finding shade under a tree before she heard Alex's familiar voice.

"Hey! Where are you going?"

"Alex?" Felicity glanced around the tree to see him disappear in the woods,"Alex! Wait up!" She started to jog after him, keeping his red hair in view as she climbed up the mountain. When she lost him, she dug her hands into the down section of her hair. Half was tugged into a tight ponytail, while the other half fell down her back in a tangled mess.

"Alex? Alex!" Felicity called put for him and eventually, she got her answer.

"No, no, no, no, no! No, please!" Alex's war strained as he thought he heard his new friends voice buried deep in the vegetation. "Felicity? Felicity! Help! Please, help!"

Felicity broke into a sprint as she heard him call for her, breathing heavily when she reach the top of the mountain just to see Dariush get decked by a stranger.

"Holy shit!" Zhenzhen appeared next to her. They glanced at each other before heading towards Alex.

"You guys are from the, um, the camp, right?" Gabriel asked, his eyes shotting across all of their faces. They lingered a bit long on the profile of Felicity as she checked Alex's arms and face for injuries. Gabriel turned to Zhenzhen as she faced her back to him and gazed out at the scenery.

Alex swatted away Felicity and she complied, crossing her arms over her chest and backing away from the stranger. Alex glanced at Zhenzhen,"She's not much of a talker."

Dariush got up and stormed past Felicity,"You know what? You know that was a lucky punch. Lucky punch. Yeah, you know, I haven't acclimated to the altitudes yet." Felicity raised her brows.

"I watched you climb up rocks to get away from a squirrel yesterday," she admitted. Dariush gave her a wide eyed look as Alex snorted. Felicity didn't see the fond smile growing on Gabriel's face.

"You were there? I mean, the only squirrels I run from are the girls because they always after my nu-"

"Stop." Felicity waved her hand and turned away, catching the toothy smile on Gabriel's face. She jumped as loud booms echoed in the sky. She put her hand across her brows and gazed past the clouds, trying to find the source. "The hell is that?"

The four kids pulled out their stowaway cellphones as the began to beep, Felicity swallowed and shuffled closer to Gabriel. She shoved her phone in front of him so he could see as Dariush read it out loud.

"Its the emergency broadcast station. It says that, 'All civilians are to evacuate metropolitan areas immediately. Under no circumstances approach any unknown aircraft'." Dariush back away, flailing his arms around and shoving his phone back in his pocket. "Its the next 7-Eleven!"

Felicity gave him an unimpressed stare,"You mean 9-11?"

"There was two of them?" Dariush shouted, becoming more and more panicky. Felicity rolled her eyes and shoved her phone back into her back pocket, giving Alex a worried glance. He nodded to her to say that he's okay.

"We gotta get back to the van," Alex suggested, his hands balled by his side,"Anyone know the way?"

"I do." Gabriel announced, Felicity's eyes flicked to hin and the confidence written across his face. Her heart started to beat faster." Follow me."

The three kids began to follow Gabriel before Dariush stopped them, "Okay! Woah, woah! Slow your roll Dora the Explorer-"

"He would be Diego." Felixity muttered under her breath, glancing around at the greenery in  annoyance. Gabriel gave her an amused look.

"-alright, this is my clique. Soldiers, out!" He snapped his finger and turned, genuinely expecting the mids to follow him. Felicity was the first to turn and walk close to Gabriel, giving careful glanced to Alex as he hiked beside Zhenzhen.

"Let's go!"
