"Everyone's gone!"

"Well, what would you expect from those shitty ass counselors," Felicity argued, slowing her sprint as Gabriel and Alex began to stop.

"Assholes!" Dariush shouted angrily, stopping by the lake side and bending over on his knees.

Alex shouted over everyone's breaths, his words becoming faster and faster as he began to get worried. Something bad could happen to them. To him. To Felicity. To Zhenzhen. "They probably got the emergency signal and went back to camp."

Everyone ducked as a boom ricocheted around the mountains, Felicity turned to see colorful ovals of sparks lighting up the sky. "Oh shit."

"What the fuck?" Dariush scrambled for his phone, shakily trying to get it to work between his sweaty fingers.

"They look like explosions in the upper atmosphere," Alex explained also reaching for his phone. Zhenzhen and Felicity followed suite.

Gabriel stepped closer to the blue eyes girl,"Call them and have them send a van to pick you up!"

"It's dead! I had 90% two seconds ago. Piece of shit boost mobile!" Dariush cursed at his phone, banging at the screen with his hands.

Felicity shook her head, holding the power on button. Nothing came up,"That's not it. The phones aren't responding at all, that's more than just a shitty phone plan."

The sky shifted into a kaleidoscope of colors before warming to pink, the kids looked around as a sound resonated around them. Jet engines began to get closer before the soared just above the water and sprayed it into the air.

"Shit!"

Felicity ducked under her arms, instantly feeling someones back pressed against her arms. Gabriel had his hand pressed against her back, his arm twisted back to keep her behind him. Felicity lunged forward to grab Alex's hand, dragging him to the ground for cover. They all stood up as the engines passed and Gabriel stood up with his hand still pressed against her back.

"Oh my God, it's Independence Day." Gabriel eurekaed, letting go of Felicity. Somehow, she felt the warmth of his hand disappear and shuffled away to brush it off.

"It's June, Gabriel!" Dariush cried, pacing around until her reached an epiphany. His hands went out and he turned to Zhenzhen,"Oh, wait! Maybe North Korea's invaded! Zhenzhen, call it off!"

Felicity's face scrunched and she shook her head at him,"Not cool, dude." Zhenzhen looked at him as if he were the stupidest human being on the planet before walking to stand beside Felicity.

Alex began to spit fire rapidly, Felicity barely being able to keep up with his words. "We just need to wait here until the adults realize they left us and come back."

"Oh, man, what if they never come back?" Dariush panicked, stomping up and downtown he sandy beach.

Felicity stared at the water, her hands balled into fist. She kissed her teeth,"They won't. Logan didn't like a single one of us, plus he's too self absorbed to think about us before himself."
