Elena's POV

Me and Daniel drove in silence until we reached the docks again. He helped me out of the car and into the boat and we rode in silence. This time however, I rode on his lap from jump, clinging to him for dear life. When we got back to the island, I went straight into the house and into our room. After today, i think I'm cool on going into the main land. At least going there with Daniel. I know I may sound weak, but I want enjoy my vacation in a country that I've never been to before without being stared at like I've broken some kind of unspoken rule.

"Hey, I thought you weren't mad at me?" Daniel's voice breaks me out of my thoughts.

"I'm not." I answer him honestly.

"Are you sure, because you've been quiet since we've left the museum." He points out.

I'm not mad about what happened at the museum, because I can't hold him accountable for somebody else's ignorant comments and behavior. However, I'm still very upset about the way he's been treating me since we've met. So as a result of his behavior alone, I'm acting a little cold. I don't know what's gonna set him off so I've decided to say as little as possible when we're alone.

"I'm fine." I say, going to look through my suit case for a bathing suit, I kind wanr to chill on the beach today. I pull out a lime green bikini and walk into the bathroom.

"You know you can change infront me right."Daniel jokes from the other side of the door. "I've seen pretty much everything."

"Don't remind me," I mumble under my breathe, I really hope he didn't hear that.

When I finished changing I stepped out of the bathroom, only to be snatched by my wrist and pushed my against the wall. He wasn't as rough as he usually is with me, but he was was rough enough to assert his dominance ever me.

"Can you please talk to me." He begs. "I thought we were fine earlier."

"Daniel I told you that I'm fine." I say pushing away from him.

"That's bullshit." He seethes, pulling at his hair, looking very frustrated.

I ignore him and make way out side. I walk along to the edge of the water and look to the horizon. I looked at with longing. A longing to have my free will back. To have control of my future back. But instead I'm trapped. I'm trapped and there's no where for me to go.

I mean even if I do run, I have no doubt that Daniel and my father's men will find me and bring me right back. I also have no doubt that it'll make my situation so much worse.

'I mean it'd be worth the try.' A voice said in the back of my head.

'Yeah until he finds me and decides to punish me by keeping me in that stupid cage for the rest of my life.' I said back to it. 'Let's just face it. I'm stuck.'

Daniel's POV

So my plan didn't go over to well. Though in my defense it wasn't really my fault. That old hag just had to come and ruin my wife's fun.

Elena says she's not upset with me, but she's been cold since we got on the boat. I mean she's kind always been a little distant, but I thought we were getting somewhere when I took her out. I don't expect us to fall into place overnight, but can I at least get a little credit.

'No jackass, you can't.' A voice said to me. 'You just have to deal with the fact that she'll never truly want you.'

"Ugh." I growl, tugging at my hair.

This is so frustrating. Why can't she just do what I say. Why can't she be like other women in our life style, that just submit with no questions asked. She's just flat out ignoring me and I haven't even done anything wrong at the moment.
