Layella thought this was near terrific. Felix had gone back home, but she was feeling cautiously optimistic, and was excited to be somewhere this new. But she also had a tugging feeling in the back of her throat, telling her she was also terrified. "Isn't this great, Terry?" she spoke. She knew if she took that approach on the greatness, Terry wouldn't know she was half lying about how great she thought this was.
"Yeah... Yeah, this is pretty... unique. Which is a good thing... I think..."
He's scared too... She thought. But then, she proceeded, who wouldn't be, after this experience?  "Well?" Vanellope jerked her away from her thoughts. "Shall we go to the castle, or just stand around here with our mouths all hanging open like that?"
She has a point... Layella conceded. So on they headed. They had been traveling for so long, and for days now, that her feet felt sore and useless. It was like Layella was just dragging some stones along with her, and she could tell Terry felt the same. He looked about as exhausted as she felt. She had to pause a minute to think about the bouncy Vanellope jumping on ahead of them. How on Earth does she do that? It's draining my energy just to think... Ralph must have thought near the same thing, even with his programmed muscles and strength, because he looked nearly out of energy, and had to halt Vanellope, and set a slower pace.
"I think we should probably go a bit slower," he said to her, clearing his throat "you know... for them." He ended.
Layella smirked and raised an eyebrow at him.
He glanced at her, shrugged, and muttered, "You could still say 'thank you'."
Layella could tell he was a bit embarrassed, and didn't want to seem weak to them. "Fine, thank you." She eventually mumbled. "Uhh, Vanellope, is there going to be anyone else at the castle, palace thing?" Layella sped up to Vanellope as she asked the question.
Vanellope looked considerate of the question. "Well... Well I uh... We'll find out when we get there, now won't we?" She looked a bit confused as she edged away, and Layella could tell she didn't know the answer to the question.
I just hope I dont have to tell the story again. Layella inwardly groaned. Suddenly she heard Vanellope's high-pitched voice calling from somewhere up ahead. "Look, look! See that? We're here! My castle!" And with those words, she bolted to the door. Layella glanced at Terry, then took off after her. Almost as soon as she entered the grand building, Vanellope grabbed her arm and ushered her into another--very big--room. It was around half the size of Layella's house. "I'll get some lemonade! Yes, we have bitter stuff in a place called 'Sugar Rush', get over it!" She added when she saw our puzzled expressions. "So tell me again how you entered this place? Did you say there was a door that led in to Game Central Station?" Ralph asked as they sat on a sofa.
Layella noticed with a small smile that, although normally stuff in palace like this would be clean and untouched, the sofa was stained, and a little worn-out.
"Yes," Terry answered. "Yes, we tumbled through the door. Then we figured out exactly where it led when we saw you two. I'm honestly still not sure if this is some strange lucid dream or not." Terry finished with a chuckle.
Layella felt it was a dream too, but it was too realistic. Something she couldn't pinpoint exactly, but she knew this was real.
"But you can't figure out how to get back? There's, uhh... Well... It's supposed to be top secret..." Ralph's voice trailed off, as if he truly believed this secret could be a help, but also that he wasn't supposed to tell anyone.
"Come on, you can tell us! Who do you think we would spill the secret to anyway?" It was true, Layella discovered with a jolt. The only people they even really knew currently were the two people they were with.
"Well... okay. There's this door, i-in Game Central Station... It used to lead to a mini game section, you know, w-where all the mini games were. Well, the arcade's been updated since then, and the door is c-claimed dangerous. There are no mini games inside there anymore. Those who have ventured through the door have not come out, and hardly anybody even knows about it. They keep it hidden behind screens with warning hazards. I can't promise you where it leads; back to where you came from, or a whole new world. It's hard to tell, but-" He was interrupted mid-speech by a loud bang and some crashing sounds, and as Layella followed Ralph's gaze, she saw Vanellope standing there, looking at Ralph as if he'd just tried to shoot Layella, with a tray and a few shattered glasses lying on the floor.
"Ralph?" She finally spoke.
Poor Ralph... He's about to get scolded, and he knows that too. Layella thought, as she saw the look on Ralph's face.
"Y-yes?"
Vanellope was looking less horrified now, and more angry. "May I speak with you? In. The. Kitchen?" She spoke through clenched teeth. Layella understood she must be angry. Ralph was talking in a low voice, keeping his head close to her's and Terry's, as if he was afraid someone else was listening. He was even stuttering as he told the story. As Ralph disappeared through the doorway to the kitchen, Vanellope turned to Terry and Layella.
"If you go upstairs, the first and third doors to the right are bedrooms. The one inbetween is a bathroom, where there are-" She let out a small shudder, "toothbrushes." She finished. "Make yourself at home, yada yada yada..." Vanellope called as she disappeared into the kitchen.
Layella and Terry looked at each other, then headed up the stairs.
"Well, I think we both know we need to check out that door." Layella spoke.
Terry looked at her. "All I'd like to do is get back to normal. Not that this isn't... interesting, but you know what I mean." Terry said, heading into the bathroom. "I'll see you in the morning, Lay." He said as he closed the door.
"Goodnight!" Layella hollered as she headed into the bedroom. Well, I don't have clothes to sleep in, and I don't have to use the bathroom... So she slipped into the bed. And that night, as Layella was slipping into sleep, she recalled how much fun today was, despite her terror at some times, exhaustion at some, and annoyance at others. She hoped tomorrow would bring even more fun, as she drifted off, to a whole new world in her dreams... She wanted to get back to normal, yes, but that didn't mean she couldn't enjoy this while it lasted...

A/N, Yes, I finally got around to making another chapter. I'm so sorry it took me so long! With school being back in, I've hardly had the time to make new chapters. I'm home schooled, yes, but it still takes a while, and I've been reading more lately, which is also very time consuming. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter, because I enjoyed writing it for you! Thank you! ~Dustpaw.
