"When are you going to start telling me what we are?" Stephen angrily asked Mordo

"When are you going to start telling me what we are?" Stephen angrily asked Mordo.

After opening one of the Ancient One's books from her collection, Stephen was immediately stopped and put down by Mordo and Wong. Aries tagged along after hearing of the commotion.

"Our heroes like the Avengers protect the world from physical dangers. We sorcerers have guarded against more mystical threats," Wong explained, walking up to the globe. He turned the dials and the globe lit up, slowly spinning in the air. "The Ancient One is the latest in a long line of Sorcerers Supreme, going back thousands of years to the father of the mystic arts. The mighty Agamotto. Same sorcerer created the eye you so recklessly borrowed. Agamotto built three sanctums of power where great cities now stand. That door leads to the Hong Kong Sanctum. That door to the New York Sanctum. That one to the London sanctum. Together, Sanctums generate a protective shield around our world."

"The Sanctums protect the world, and we sorcerers protect the Sanctums," Mordo added.

"From...what?" Stephen hesitantly asked.

"Other dimensional beings that threaten our universe," Wong answered.

"Like Dormammu?" Stephen clarified.

"Where did you learn that name?" Mordo asked.

"I...just read it in the book of Cagliostro. Why?" Stephen asked.

Wong switched the dials, and the Agamotto signs disappearing from the globe. "Dormammu dwells in the Dark Dimension - beyond time. He is the cosmic conqueror, the destroyer of worlds. A being of infinite power and endless hunger. Quest to invade every universe and bring all worlds into his Dark Dimension, and he hungers for Earth most of all."

"Pages that Kaecilius stole," Stephen muttered.

"The ritual to contact Dormammu and draw power from the Dark Dimension," Wong conveyed.

Stephen chuckled, glancing at Aries. "Uh - okay. Okay - um - I-I'm out. I came here to heal my hands, not to fight in some mystical war."

Aries stepped forward, reaching for Stephen's hand, but she never got to hold his hands in comfort. Bells rang in the distance, causing all of them to look up.

"London," Wong muttered.

The doors to London opened and a young sorcerer sprinted through, only to fall to his knees with a transparent spear in his back.

"Kaecilius!" Wong exclaimed as Kaecilius raised his hands, forming a ball of energy.

Just then, the ball of energy exploded and everyone flew back onto the ground. Stephen and Aries got thrown into another door, falling to the floor of the New York sanctum. The doorway closed up by a wall.

"Wong! Mordo!" Stephen exclaimed as he jumped to his feet.

He groaned in frustration as he helped Aries up. She had more cuts on her legs, while Stephen had more cuts on his face.

"Looks like you won't get most handsome doctor of the month this month," Aries joked.

He looked at her, exasperated.

"What, bad joke?"

He shook his head. The two walked around the sacrum.

"Where are we?" Stephen asked.

"I think this is the New York Sanctum," she answered.

Stephen walked forward, but stumbled and groaned as he held his head. Aries caught him by the wrist to help him steady himself. With her help, he walked to the entrance of a door and opened it, revealing the honks of cars and citizens walking by.

"What, you needed to see the honks for yourself?" Aries retorted. "Now, I'm positive we're in New York."

"How do we get back?" Stephen asked.

"Even if I knew, I don't think it's safe. Come on. Let's get back inside," she advised.
