Chapter Four: Two Years

Alexis woke up, feeling unusual. She turned over, and checked her phone. 3:25am the clock read. She rolled onto her back and blinked, than crawled out of bed. She put her slippers on and walked down to the kitchen, and poured a glass of pink lemonade than sat at the couch, she turned the news channel on.

'We are here at Balderville Hospital, in the burn clinic, with Mayor Baldwin' Ross the television host said zooming in on Chloe.

''Hello town, My name is Madam Mayor Baldwin. And I am here to bring you the top news. Breaking news just in. Katie Davis has been found alive. We ask Alexis Davis, Sutton Davis and Piper davis to please contact us immediately'' Chloe said, Lexi dropped her juice and went running up to Piper's room.

''Wake up!'' She screamed entering the room, Piper jumped up startled

''Lex?''

''Katie's alive, they found her. We need to go. Now!'' Lexi screamed, running to the car, Piper got in a few minutes later, and off they went.

Twenty minutes later Lexi and Piper arrived at the hospital, and ran inside. ''We're here to see Mayor Baldwin'' Piper said to the receptionist.

''Right this way'' A nurse said leading them to the burn clinic, inside was Chloe.

'I'm so glad you girls could make it' Chloe said, revealing Katie in bandages, and Sutton sitting beside her.

''Where's Jake?'' Lexi asked ''He's here too, right?''

''No, but we think Katie will tell you where he is, or at least where he was'' Chloe said ''Go ahead, talk to her''

Piper and Lexi ran to her, Slowly hugging her. ''Are you okay?''

''No, it hurts. I remember, I pulled Jake out from under the beam that fell on him after got thrown from the door, I dragged him to the patio and than I ran to get help, I fell into the lake and haven't seen Jake since. I was burned bad, he was hardly effected, maybe a scar on his face'' Katie said getting tears. ''He saved me from death, Lexi. And I didn't save him''

''Where would he be now? If he was on the porch, than why wouldn't he have dragged himself to safety'' Lexi asked

''I don't know, no one does. It's scary because I don't even think he's even in Balderville anymore'' Katie cried ''I tried to look for him, but I was too weak. I was smashed over the head and thrown in that shed''

''Oh Katie'' Piper sighed

''Lexi'' Katie said

'Ya?'

''Happy two year anniversary.. to you and Jake'' Katie said, before passing out.

''You remembered...'' Lexi whispered, than the nurse took Piper, Sutton and Lexi out of the room''

''Today is you're two years?'' Piper asked

''Exactly four years ago, I started going to the café to get snacks and drinks, and exactly three years ago he asked to be my boyfriend... Two years ago, he proposed... We've been married now a year and eight months'' Lexi said ''I'm surprised Katie knew''

''Let's get going'' Piper said

'Hold on Pip, you go to the car, Lexi and I need to talk for a second' Sutton said

'Alright'

Sutton walked off, and left the two standing in the middle of the hospital. ''Hey'' Lexi said

''I need you to listen to me'' Sutton said

''Ok, What?'' Lexi asked

'Take Piper home, than meet me at my house. We have to do something'

''Ok'' Lexi said, leaving the room and going to the car. They started to drive home

'I'm glad she's alive' Piper said

''I am too, I just wish Jake could have been there too'' Lexi said

Lexi pulled into the house, and dropped Piper off, than drove out of the drive way, and made her way towards Sutton's. She pulled into the drive way, and got out of her car and went into Sutton's house.

''Sutton?'' Lexi called

'Hey' Sutton said coming out of the bathroom. 'Ready?'

'Ya' Lexi said following Sutton out to her car, She pulled out and started to drive

''Where are we going, and why so late?''

''You'll see when we get there'' Sutton said 'it all clicked, when Katie was talking and than you told her about Jake, it all makes sense now''

Two hours later Sutton pulled into a parking lot. ''Oh my god, Why are we here?'' Lexi asked

''Because, let's get inside'' Sutton said getting out of the car, and walking up to the doors, she kicked the lock, and than pushed the door open, Lexi followed her into the Starlight Café, which was now renamed Monet Bonnet.

''Why are we here?'' Lexi asked being walked upstairs. The two made it to the top. Someone was standing at the window, looking down at the car.

''Oh, I'm sorry. I Didn't know someone was here..'' Lexi said ''We're gonna leave''

The person turned, Sutton flashed her light on the person's face.

'Hi Lex... Did you miss me?'

Lexi's face dropped. Her heart pounded. 'Is this real? Is that really you?' Lexi asked, seeing Jake's face.
