Chapter Eight: Times are changing

It's been eight weeks since Sutton left for Miami, no text, calls, nothing. Katie was no longer with them either.

"Hey baby" Jake said coming into the house. He had gone grocery shopping since he got the check from insurance.

"Hey" Lexi said

"Can you come here and help get these?" Jake asked

Lexi stood and came out the door and to the car, After they carried the drinks in, Jake joined lexi in the couch. He put on a YouTube video and kissed Lexi's neck

"I'm not in the mood" Lexi sighed, putting her hands in her face

"What's wrong?" Jake asked

"I'm just upset. Sutton hasn't called, I lost Katie." Lexi said "I feel alone"

"You aren't alone" Jake said taking her hand "ever"

"Where's Brynn? I thought she went with you." Lexi said.

"No, she's actually at the police department" Jake said, "she's gonna enrol to be an officer and take over Sutton's work"

"Really?" Lexi asked "I didn't know that"

"Chloe called and told me, that's how I found out" Jake said

"Oh" Lexi said, "I'm gonna attempt to call Sutton"

Lexi got off the couch and walked to the bathroom, and pulled out her phone. She scrolled through her contact list until she hit "Twin💕"

She clicked call, and put the phone up to her ear. It rang a few times than picked up

"Hey! It's lex" Lexi said

"Hi, you've reached Sutton Davis, I'm not available to take your call at the moment, please leave a message and I'll get back to you when I can. Thanks lover!" Sutton voicemail said

"Hey, Sutton. It's me. Lexi, again. You said you'd call and keep in touch, and you haven't. You've been gone eight weeks, and I miss you. Are you okay? Are you alive... I really wish you were here. Same with Katie. Your probably busy with your life, but when you get the chance... please call me" Lexi said than hung up

Lexi put her phone down. Started the shower, than got in it. She held herself and cried

Later that day

"Piper, can you come in here please" a woman said in the police station

"What's going on? Why was I called?" Piper asked

"My name is detective Emma." She said "There's been a sudden disappearance, and we have you in video surveillance with the victim before she went missing"

"Me? Who went missing?" Piper asked

"Her name was Mallory Perusa" Emma said "she was your age. She was at a dance, just like you were three weeks ago."

"I wasn't at a dance three weeks ago, I don't know what your talking about" piper said

"Listen, kid. I'm not playing games, I need to crack and figure out this case" Emma said

"I wish I knew what happened, but I don't even know a Mallory, I've never met one. And I haven't gone dancing in over three years" Piper said

"Well we have you on camera" Emma said

"Than it was photo shop, or edited or whatever they do! I wasn't at a dance. I swear to god" piper said

"Whatever, Kid. Don't leave town, your our prime suspect" Emma said
