~Your POV~

The nighttime announcement came on after a long day and I headed to the school's library, running out of things to distract myself with through the night due to my insomnia. I haven't slept properly since our first day here and Rantaro's murder didn't exactly help me either. I would spend some of the night with Kaito but I felt like I'd been bothering him lately, so I've been trying to do other things to help me make it through the night. Research on my talent, walking the halls, walking around the campus, sitting by the fountain and so on and so forth. What I'm saying is, I've run out of ideas.

After parrusing through the shelves then being reminded of our first murder here, I left in disgust and headed back to my dorm room. I tried occupying myself with things around my room but that didn't work as well. I was about to try and just lay down and see if I could just actually fall asleep until my doorbell rang. I opened it to see Kaito on the other side.

"You doing okay, baby?" Kaito asked, leaning against the doorframe.

I blushed at his nickname for me. "N-Not really," I stuttered out. "Running out of things to do. What're you doing up?"

"I was getting a bit restless myself."

I smiled. "Well, at least we can suffer together."

He chuckled. "I've got an idea." He then held out his hand towards me. "Come on." I laced my fingers with his and he lead me outside the dorms.

Kaito lead me over towards the picnic table in a patch of grass by the dorm rooms. He sat on the ground and patted a spot next to him, signaling me to sit down as well. After I sat down, he pulled me backwards and we both looked up at the sky.

"It actually looks realistic," he spoke softly, wrapping an arm around my shoulders.

"What does?" I asked, turning my gaze to look at his face.

"The stars, babe!" he chuckled while looking back at me. "Take a look!" He pointed up in the sky behind our heads with his other hand. "There's Cassiopia," -he moved his hand a little to the right- "there's Draco going through the Big and Little Dipper," -he then moved his hand straight up - "and there's the North Star."

I leaned my head against his shoulder. "That's pretty cool." I frown a little after that. "It sucks that we could be stuck here for the rest of our lives, though."

"Hey hey hey!" Kaito removed his arm from around me and grabbed my closest hand. "Don't think like that! We're gonna get out of here! We just gotta stay positive and stick together!"

"I know," I replied, "but it's hard to stay positive after three murder cases."

He slowly rubbed his thumb against the back of my hand. "I know how you feel. Things are . . . a bit rough, but at least we have each other." I looked back at his face to see his purple eyes looking back at me. "I swear I'll never leave you."

His words made me smile. "I'll never leave you either, Kaito."

He grinned back at me and cupped my cheek with his other hand, pulling me into a passionate kiss. I held his hand tighter as we continued our lip lock. When we released to breathe, I moved to rest my head on his chest and let go of his hand to make myself more comfortable. He gently laid his arm over my back and rested it on my hips as he continued to gaze into the sky.

After some time, I was beginning to feel a little drowsy. Letting Kaito know, he stood up and lifted me off the ground as we headed back to his room. I'm glad he didn't take me back to mine - I wanna sleep with him for once.

We got to his room and he plopped me on the corner of the bed and jumped on his back. When he stopped moving, I climbed over him and rested my head on his right shoulder and we embraced each other.

"I'm surprised you're actually getting sleepy," Kaito commented, running a hand up and down my back.

"Same here," I replied, "but I'm not complaining."

He chuckled. "Neither am I."

I leaned up a little and pecked his cheek a few times. "Night, Kaito."

He returned the favor by pecking my forehead double the amount of times I did. "Good night, (YN)."

After his final words, I closed my eyes and happily let sleep take over my stressed body.
