"*Yawn*... Ugh, I hate getting up in the morning..." (Y/N) complained. "What day is it anyway..?" (Y/N) groaned as they checked the calendar. "WHA-WAIT!! Today's my birthday!? I totally forgot! Oh well, now I remember. It's not like my birthdays are special or anything... My parents literally just say 'Happy Birthday (Y/N)!' while taking a video, then we just eat cake. Nothin' special, and the only gifts they give me are clothes, and rarely a game, and I'm like, thanks, it's not like I have a gazillion other articles of clothes! ... And I'm talking to myself again... Heh heh..."
Just then, your phone rings. "D-Danny? Hey there! How art thou?" You ask. "Thou ist very well! Thou also congratulates (Y/N) on their 17th Birthday!" He answers. "And (Y/N) wants to scold thee for waking his majesty up at... 8:30! Just kidding, I woke up myself!" You joke. "I know." He adds. "You always wake up at 8:30 A.M. Even during summer break, which is really weird! Anyways, I shall not be punished by his majesty because Sir Danny has called with a gift at his house!" He finishes. "(Y/N) thanks the gift bearer for the, well, gift! Now his majesty will make his way to Sir Danny's house in a jiffy! ... After he gets past the King and Queen. Bye!" You conclude. "Bye." He answers, ending the random medieval-themed conversation.
In case you were wondering, "The King And Queen" Are your parents. They always question where you're going, and you'd always say, "Somewhere!" and they'd just keep on going back and forth with you until you got to the door and dash out before they could catch you. This time, since it was your birthday, you didn't want to get your cheerful mood spoiled, so you decided to climb out the window. Thankfully, your room was on the first floor, so you had no trouble on the way down. As you left, a thought popped into your head; "Should I leave a note?" You think out loud. "Nah, my locked door is enough!" You conclude and start dashing to Danny's house. As you ran, you send a quick text:
(Y/N): Hey Dan Dan, Coming 2 u rn!
You shove you phone in your pocket just before running straight into a tree. knocking you back onto your butt. "Oww..." You groan. Then quickly change your mind. "Why am I complaining? It's just a tree! Danny's waiting for me! Time to go!" Then you realize that you crashed into the tree in front of Danny's house, and he saw. Completely unfazed, you dash to his door and charge in right as he opened it. "Geez, that was a fast recovery!" He observes as he shuts the door.
"Yeah, the snow caught my fall!" You answer. Not to mention your birthday was in the middle of December, that is to say, on Christmas Eve. Eve. "Really? It must be really soft and fluffy then!" He exclaims, before continuing. "But still, the snow didn't help you with the first collision. Are you sure you're ok?" He worries. "I'm fine!" You intone as you nonchalantly shrug off his concern. "... O-Ok..." He finally agrees, but you could tell he was still worried. You let it go though because you didn't want either of you to make it a bigger fuss than it actually was.
"Anyways, what's my gift??" You ask, overly eager. "Alright! Alright! Hold on, I have it here... " He assured, then pulled a VR Headset from behind his back. "*GASP* Oh Danny, you shouldn't have! Thank you so much!!" You pull him into a hug, one that wasn't as tight as before, you made sure.
"Uh, I feel like I'm getting mixed messages here." He said, trying to sound unsure, although he knew you knew he was joking. "... Also, can you let me go now?" He finally added. This made you both laugh, but this time you both tried to keep it down so that"Crispy" wouldn't come down and scold him again.
You carefully shove it into your bag, then after that Danny gives you one more thing: Rec Room for VR! This time, you twirl then jump, imitating Luigi, because you didn't want to annoy Danny with another hug.
Suddenly, you hear a buzzing sound, and Danny pulls his phone out. Then he turns to you again. "Uh, (Y/N), my mom's almost here, you should go." He warns. "Ok, Danny. Thank you so much! Bye!" You say cheerily. "Bye!" He calls back as you dash out the door back home. This time, though, you didn't run into any trees, and you congratulate yourself for your non-clumsiness as you climb back in the window.
You set your alarm clock to 9:00; 7 minutes from now. You then wait, and when the alarm goes off, you wait for a few seconds, then turn it off then wait for another 7 minutes. 7 was your favorite number, so you tried to incorporate it in as many things as possible.
You then walk out of your blue and orange room and meet your parents with a fake but convincing smile plastered on, singing, "♪ Happy Birthday To Me! ♫" "Wow, someone slept in!" You mom points out. "It was only half an hour mom..." You reply. "Well, come on! Let's celebrate!" She almost yells in excitement. You twirl around and make the peace sign, imitating Luigi yet again.
After that, they sang happy birthday, cut the cake, ate some, then gave you a gift: "Mario And Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Junior's Journey"! After that, it was a normal day, and eventually, nightfall commenced, and so did your rest. You had a dream this night. Although you didn't dream very often, it wasn't uncalled for. But this dream stood out from any other dream you've ever had. EVER.
Eldstar appeared in your dream! And he was talking! To you!
"(Y/N)..." His voice echos. "Wh-What!? Eldstar?!?" You practically scream. "You mustn't panic... After all, this is only a dream..." He reassures. "N-No! There's a legend that says when one of the Seven Legendary Stars appear in your dream or conscience, they are communicating to you from their world!" You explain. "So it is you, then." He says, seemingly content with himself. "Wh-What do you mean??" You demand. "I-I'm sorry for being so rude..." You apologize, coming to your senses. "But why would you want to communicate with me?" You ask, more calmly.
"I know that you and Danny have both been dreaming of going to the Mushroom Kingdom since you two were seven." His voice wasn't echoing anymore. "Y-Yeah..." You agree. "So I'm giving you the chance to go there..." He trailed off. "Are you serious?? OF COURSE I WILL!" You say, over-excitedly. Then you regain your composure. "S-Sorry again..." You quickly atone. Eldstar chuckled. "No, no, (Y/N), I understand your excitement." He looks at you understandingly.
"Ok, but I have some questions." You state. "Ask away!" He replies. "Well, is Danny coming?" You ask. "Yes, but he will come later, as he will need your experience to help him get used to the new world." He answers.
"O-Ok, he does tend to have to rely on me... Also, won't our families be worried?" You worry. "Don't worry, young one, while you are in our world, time in your world will freeze!" He explains. "Oh, cool! here's another: Will we be able to use their power-ups and have lives and be big and small?" You ask quickly "Yes, yes, and yes!" He says. "Ok, two more..."
You hesitate. This was your least favorite one, but still the most important.
"W-Will... What happens when we Game Over? D-D-Do we die?" You timidly ask. He chuckles again. "No, you will just go back to your world!" That made you sigh in relief. "Although, you will wake up with a disease, known as... Ah, what do your people call it... Cancer, I think?" He tries to remember. "W-WHAT!?" You exclaim. "W-Wait! I remember now! Not Cancer, the Flu! Also, you will be sick for anywhere from 2 weeks to a month, and you won't be able to come back for a year." He recalls. "Oh, thank the stars..." You sigh.
No death, no cancer. So far, so good.
"Finally, how do I get back to my world, without, you know..." "You will go on a mission. You won't know what it is, but fate will lead you. Once you are done with it, you will do one last thing and then you will come back here, at the time you had this dream, still asleep, although you will be able to recall it vividly... A bit more vivid than you can imagine..." He muses.
"Well, would you like to go?" He asks. You give your answer. "You already know I want to! Let's-a-go!" You impersonate Luigi one last time for good luck. And then everything went black.

"Ungh..." You start to wake up, and realize, you aren't in your bed anymore. "Wh-Where am I?" You ask yourself. You stand up and get a better look around. The first thing you notice are eyes. Eyes almost everywhere! There were eyes on bushes, mountains, flowers, etc.! Then it hits you:
You were in the Mushroom Kingdom!
