"Two," I announce smugly to Briella.
"Absolutely not," she replies.
We are currently watching guests arrive through the grand doors of the ballroom and playing 123 Marry Me. I am picking out a person and labeling them 1, while Briella needs to decide to either "marry them," or pass.
If she chooses to pass, I pick out someone else and label them 2. If she chooses to pass on them, the next person I choose to be 3, she has to "marry."
We are playing by picking whoever walks through the main ballroom door. An old, balding man in a very expensive bright purple suit walked in. He was number two, and also the one Briella replied as 'absolutely not.'
"Well then the next person you marry!" I respond with an evil grin.
We both wait expectantly for the next person to walk through the entrance. The ballroom is very close to being full, but a few people are still arriving every now and then. Out of no where, a giant, intimidating man with a mustache bursts through the door holding a platter.
We realize that it's Clarence, head chef, who had ran to the kitchen to grab one last platter of food.
"Noooo!" Briella wails as I bust out laughing. "Anybody but him!"
"You can't deny what the universe is clearly telling us," I tease.
"What are we laughing about over here ladies?" a familiar voice asks.
I turn around and see Carter as he gives me a kiss on my cheek.
"Just that Briella is going to marry Clarence," I giggle.
Carter raises his eyebrows in surprise and jokingly says, "Wow Briella, I wouldn't think of him as your type but whatever floats your boat."
Briella just shakes her head with a look of defeat plastered across her face.
"I've got to go but I'll see you two later," Carter remarks.
"Okay, see you later," I respond.
"Save me a dance," Carter whispers into my ear before walking away.
The only thing is that I thought the palace staff aren't allowed to dance. From what I know, people such as the maids, cooks, guards, etc. are all helping out and working during the ball, so there is no time to dance.
I don't really care because I'd rather not trip over my feet in the middle of the dance floor. I'm not the most graceful.
All the guests at the ball have beautiful dresses or tuxes that I'm completely obsessed with looking at. Everyone looks so beautiful and well put together.
I also really do love the dress that all the maids are wearing.
I love the white color and how it gets longer towards the back. The high neck makes it more modest, but still pretty.
It's simple, yet it makes me feel elegant. I feel not quite like a full princess, but maybe half of one.
