Ahh Mapleshade... the name we instantly know is evil apon first hearing it. Like most villans though, there is a story behind the hatred and slightly creepy intrusions in other cats dreams. Is it enough though to prove that she is good on the inside? @Mapleshade believes that she deserves more that what we give her.
@Mapleshade101 thinks that she isn't as bad as she seems. I mean, I agree she's pretty evil, but I mean come on!! Look at this and think... what would you do if that happened to you.
"Mapleshade was banished by her clan because she loved a RiverClan cat and was ThunderClan and then was banished by her mate because her kits fell in the river and Appledusk, her mate, blamed her."
I may not have gotten far enough in the books to know the full story of the cat hiding in the shadows of your dreams training you preparing you to murder, but I HAVE read "Crookedstars Promise" (great book btw) and its clear enough to me that maybe... just maybe we're judging her a bit to harshly.
Besides... this sure does remind me of a certain ShadowClan cat who is quite possibly one of the most popular cats in the series. Anyone else read that and instantly think "that sounds just like Yellowfang and her little brother and sister!!!" Because I sure did. But that doesn't stop us from loving her.
Maybe give her a second chance?
