Code 12 - Stay
Don't go, don't leave, please stay with me- Don't go by Wrech 32
"... Juvia... Wake up... Stay..."
The voice was distance and unclear but the concern and who it was, was clear.
"Gr... Gray-sama?" She tried to open her eyes but they felt too heavy from sleep.
"Oh thank god! Don't try and do anything yet, I'll get the nurse," there was a sound of movement next to her bed and she heard Gray's call from far away. She tried to open her eyes again but failed.
The sound of foot steps alerted her of company.
"She's awake nurse."
"Right let me a check on her and see how she is," it was a light feminine voice who said this.
"Why cannot Juvia open her eyes?" she croaked out, her throat felt dry and unused for weeks.
"Don't worry that's just the opioids, they could make you drowsy, I'll tell the doctors to lower your dose of oxycodone-"
"No stop it, I don't want it," Juvia protested. "They make me feel fuzzy, I'd rather deal with the pain."
"But, miss you have suffered a server gun wound and you lost a lot of blood."
"It does not make a difference, Juvia wants to off the medication," the frustration of the argument and not being able to see her surroundings made Juvia grit her teeth.
"Calm down Juvia, your going to break the heart monitor in a minute," Gray's deep smooth voice soothed and a hand took hold of her's.
"Can't you try and ask the doctors if she can be off it?"
Juvia guessed that this was to the nurse.
"Um... Well I see what I can do..."
"Thanks and can you ask if Juvia can be discharged as soon as possible?"
"Okay I'll ask but I think she may have to be kept here for a another few days."
There were foot steps heading towards the door and sound of it opening then shutting told Juvia that she was alone, with him. After a long silence Gray broke the tension.
"You know you really should stop waking up in hospitals if you don't like them."
She could feel a smile the tug at her lips but she suppressed it. "This was not Juvia's fault, she thought she took the magazine out of the gun. Who knew he had a bullet already in the chamber."
"Oh so it was your fault that he couldn't shoot us."
"Yes."
She attempted again to open her eyes, succeeding this time. She saw Gray sitting next to her bed and holding her right hand. He looked like he had hardly slept with the dark circles underneath his eyes and the stubble that dusted this jaw showed he barley shaved either.
"How long have you been Here?" Juvia asked.
"Not long, three days give or take," he stopped at the weird look Juvia always giving him. "Well I did also stop at the apartment and base to get some things but yeah I've been with you for three days. "
"Why?"
"Because I was worried," his face now serious.
Juvia was astounded. This man was supposed to be her enemy and he's supposed to suspect her. Then when why in the world was he worried about her?
"That's new."
"Excuse me? "
"People worrying about Juvia. That's new to her from strangers."
"But we're not strangers, we're a team," his voice was honest and with out any hesitation. He really meant it.
Juvia finally realised that her feelings for his man wasn't just respect and trust. She had started to fall for him. Is this what they call love? No. This would have only get in the way. Juvia had to act soon. She can't stay anymore.
The nurse, re-entering, pulled her out that her thoughts and back to the hospital.
"I have talked to the doctor and he said that it would be okay for her to be off the opioids but she won't be released until tomorrow."
"Okay," Gray replied.
"And I'm truly sorry but we have to make you go home because we need to use that bed," she added pointing to the bed next to Juvia for the first time.
"No -"
"Gray-sama it is okay it is just for one night. Juvia will be fine, " She reassured him as he started to protest. His face showed that he was unsure so Juvia added. "Gray-sama has to get the flat ready and Juvia will be there tomorrow morning anyway."
After that argument Gray agreed to leave one the condition that she'll com him if anything were to happen.

He walked through the quiet ward. The staff had taken no notice of him in his long white lab coats, blending in with the other doctors, and patients were all asleep. But he didn't care for any of them except one. Patient number 22 Juvia Lockser.
Pushing open that door he found Juvia asleep on the bed closest to the door and another patient, in his late twenties. He walked closer and ruffled the bluenette's hair. Her hand shot up and grabbed the assaulting hand.
"Sharp as ever Rain Woman."
"Gajeel-kun?!" Juvia asked groggily.
"Yeah I'm just here to tell you that the plan will start in two days time. So see you then. Master Jose was worried about you." And with that he slipped from the room leaving it the way it was before. At least she doesn't have to stay here anymore, but the unknown feeling made it hard to agree with herself.
But she can't stay anymore.
