(Y/n)'s POV
Journal Entry 1: Welcome to South Dakota. I read on a passing sign. We have been driving for almost 2 days. (we had to make a few stops on the way, sightseeing and other "fun" things.) My family was now driving to Blackwood, Minnesota. My new home for the next few years, or months. We are driving from LA, California. My home from birth. In case your wondering, we moved after a little... incident. Or multiple incidents. But all will be explained in due time. My mom thought it would be best if i kept a journal, she thinks it will help me. We will see how that goes. Well on with my boredom for another couple hours. Goodbye for now. (y/n)
I finish writing my entry and sign it with my usual signature. These past 2 days have been horrid. My mother insisted on stopping at every tourist attraction or small little town we saw. Most the time, I spent with my ear buds in my ears, listening to (f/b). There wasn't much i was able to do during the car ride or sightseeing. Most of the ride i would happily camp in the corner of the backseat with just barely enough room to shift around in. My parents didnt get a u-haul so we stuffed all our stuff in the trunk and some in the backseat with me.
Im not complaining though. It keeps me out of sight from my parents. I spent the last few hours of the car ride, listening to my music and reading one of my favorite books. I would look out the car window whenever i decided my eyes needed a break from the pages and would see the occasional house in the distance, some cows in a field or some pretty landscapes. Although i didnt like the idea of moving, I cant help but wonder what it will be like in Blackwood. Will i make some good friends? Will i have some enemies? Maybe find love? I cringe at that last thought. I hated the idea of being romantic with someone. Especially after my parents... incident. Its very hard to trust someone that much.
I go back to reading my book, drowning out any thoughts about Blackwood, not wanting to get upset all over again. After i finish a few chapters, i switch my playlist then settle in to try and get some sleep.

Im awaken by an abrupt stop. When i look up, i see an old fashioned farm house. I stare in awe at the fact that it doesnt look run down, or destroyed. Maybe this place wont be too bad. When i step out of the car i take a look around. I could see a few other houses around and the lights from the town. Maybe a 10-15 minute walk to town from here. So we werent completely isolated but i liked it. I looked around the side of the house, there was a small lake behind it and a huge backyard. There wasnt a lot of space for back yards or lakes behind houses in Los Angeles. Not natural ones at least.
I feel a hand on my shoulder and look up to see my mom. "What do you think?" She asks with a soft smile.
I look off into the distance. "Its definitely not Cali." I state quietly. My mom chuckles softly and sighs. "I know hon. But maybe small town life will grow on you. Now go get some of your things from the car and pick a room.
I nod and take one last look at the lake before getting my stuff from the car. It was nearing sundown, so there was just enough liht to see what i was doing.
After i grabbed some of my bags and my laptop, i go inside the house and look around. There was a huge living room, as big as an entire apartment. Just behind it was the kitchen, it looked huge from here. There was two other rooms in an area off to the side in-between the kitchen and living room. I looked to the right of the door and see a big elegant-looking staircase. It looked old-fashioned but at the same time modern, like something from a mansion.
I slowly accended the staircase, when i reached the top, there was a long hallway. There looked to be almost 20 rooms. But it was probably close to 6. I couldnt help but gape at the sight. I made my way down the hall, looking into every room, trying to decide where i wanted to stay. I must have looke through 5 bedrooms, maybe 2 bathrooms. Before i reached a door at the end of the hall. When i opened it, i instantly knew i wanted this room.
The walls were a pastel (f/c) with white trimming. There was 2 huge windows on the wall in front of the door and one window on the wall to the right with a cushiony area to sit on. It overlooked the lake. The view was stunning. I made my over the queen size bed that already against the wall that was in front of the door. I sat my stuff down and looked around the spacious room. I made plans on how to decorate my room, as the walls were left empty and there was just a bed, white nightstand and a plain white dresser.
I flopped back onto my bed and stretched. Satisfied by the popping i heard from my back. I sighed and stood up, walking to a door right next to my main door. There was a huge bathroom behind it. It was just as pretty as the room. The bath and show were separate. There was a sink in the center of a counter with a huge mirror measuring the same length as the counter. And there was a small cut out area for the toilet. This place was stunning compared to LA.

I step out of the shower and breathe out a sigh. It felt good to take a shower in a real bathroom, instead of the ones at motels which could be painful sometimes. I walked into my bed room and put on my (f/c) sweatpants and a black tank top. I dried my (h/l) (h/c) before walking out of my room. I made my way downstairs, as a delicious scent filled my nostrils. I followed it into the kitchen to see my mom making (f/d). I guess she went shopping while i was unpacking and showering. My mouth instantly started to water and i sat down in a chair at the dining table in a separate room off from the kitchen. While i waited, i noticed the front porch wrapped all the way around the house. The back door was in the kitchen and it was a basic door with a small window at the top.
My mom walked into the dining room and placed a plate in front of me and at 2 other seats. She sits down and a few minutes later my father joins as well. We eat in silence for the most the dinner. The rest of it was my parents talking about my new school and their new jobs. I zoned out most of the conversation and stared out the window. It got dark out pretty quickly here, but i could see the moons reflection on the surface.
After dinner, I helped clean up before going to my room. As soon as i got up the stairs, i can hear my parents start to bicker. Ever since the incidents, my parents havent been the best together. I usually drown it out with music since its always the same fight.
When i reach my room, i crawl into bed and put my ear buds in to drown out the screaming. I stare up at the ceiling and sighed. Will this ever end?
After an hour or so, i end up falling asleep with my music blaring, watching the reflection of the waves movement on my ceiling.
A/N: The chapters wont always end with the character going to sleep but i felt that it was right for this first one. Also, (f/b) means favorite band in case you couldnt tell. Anyways, i hope you enjoyed the first chapter. They probably all wont be this long. And im sorry if there are a few missing punctuation like these things ' and lower case i's. I dont have spelling correction on. But i will put it when it's necessary. Okay have a nice day/night.
