(Y/n)'s POV

I awoke to the sound of my mother calling my name. The sun shining brightly into my room. I groan as i drag myself out of bed. I did my morning routine, showering brushing my hair, my teeth. I decided on wearing a pastel (f/c) loose sweater, some plain blue jeans that were ripped at the knees, and some basic black converse. I drag myself out of my room and down the hall, stretching and yawning.

I stepped into the kitchen and saw my mom making some pancakes. I made my way to the table and sat down, staring out the window across from me. I was lost in thought, thinking about the move when my mom snapped me back into reality by placing a plate of pancakes in front of me. "Its a nice day (y/n). You should go for a walk into town. Maybe meet some friends." She said in a cheery tone. I rolled my eyes and started to eat. I hated making friends. Especially in a place im not used to. But after what happened in Cali, i decided to just nod at her and answer with a quiet, okay.

After i finished my breakfast, i left the house with a quick goodbye to my parents.  I didnt like being around them much after what happened. My mom was always pretending to be happy and my dad doesnt even try to act like he cares. I hate when they pretend, treating like im still a little girl running around in a princess costume.

I could feel the anger bubbling in my chest but i take deep breaths to calm down. No use getting mad over it now.

On my walk to town, i passed by the woods as it was surrounding the road and the town. The woods started at the end of my driveway, i guess whoever lived here before didnt like them. As i walked, i looked around at the landscape. It looked so peaceful. It definitely felt good getting some piece and quiet. But something caught my eye. I looked to the woods to my left and saw something rush past a few trees. It made me jump a bit, but i just assumed it was a deer. Or maybe some kids playing in there. I stood there for a few minutes staring at the woods before deciding to just go on my way. I told myself over and over again that it was just a deer, until i saw movement again. This time catching a hint of white.

The atmosphere around me became unsettling. I quickened my pace before full on sprinting to town. I didnt stop till i was on the sidewalk in the line of sight of other people. I look back at the woods, scanning to see if the flash of white would show up again. But it didnt.

I was snapped out of my thoughts by a lady putting her hand on my shoulder. When i looked at her i noticed she was a small but chubby woman. She had long black hair pulled back into a ponytail and pretty brown eyes and small wrinkles around her eyes. She looked worried. "Are you okay hon?" She asked calmly. I slightly hesitated, still slightly disoriented. "Im okay. Just got spooked is all." I say.

She chuckled. "I can tell your new here. You just moved into old Wilbers place right?" Her voice sounded so sweet. Like candy.

I nodded slowly. "Yes. We got in last night." She patted my shoulder. "Ah, yes. That would explain why i didnt see you in town yesterday." She gave me a sweet smile that i returned. "Well if you ever need anything, you can come to me deary. I live in the blue house a little ways from yours. Theres a garden out front." She added on. And with that, she left.

I went on my way, stopping at small little stores to look around. Most of the visits consisting of conversation with the owners and a few customers about just moving in. I asked about what i saw in the woods but they all responded the same way. Oh, thats just kids playing around. Probably trying to scare the newcomer. We dont get new people that often. It seemed a little unsettling. I hope i dont have to deal with that every day.

I had been in town for a few hours. I havent met anyone in my age group, and i doubt they hang around the town. I was currently sitting on a bench waiting for my dad to get here. While i was wondering the town and meeting the locals, the sun set and there was no way i was gonna walk through those woods at night.

Soon enough my dad pulled up and i hopped in. Neither of us said anything during the car ride back. When we arrived home, i instantly rushed up to my room. I didnt feel like sitting with them at the table and eating. I will get food after they go to their room.

When i got to my room, i kicked off my shoes and flopped onto my bed. I stared up at the ceiling, going over the day in my head. I couldnt stop thinking about that white flash i saw. What was it? Was it actually a person? Or am i just crazy.

I shook my head, ridding the thought from my head. I slowly dragged myself up and went to the bathroom. I took a shower. But when i got in, i instantly sat down and began thinking again. What if it wasnt one of the local kids? What if it was the killer thats going around? I shook my head. That is stupid (y/n), why would a killer wear bright white? Its a killer for gods sake. They are trying not to get caught.

After a few minutes, i stepped out of the shower. I changed into my pajamas and walked into my room. I stood and stared at my room for a while before deciding to go sit at the window. I grabbed my favorite book on the way there and sat down on the small bench. I leaned back against the wall and stared out the window at the lake. It looked so peaceful under the shine of the moon. The soft reflection on the calm waves. I rested my head on the window. So much has happened in the past month.

I watched the waves roll onto the shore. It must have gotten pretty late, since i could hear faint snoring in the back ground. My parents were always asleep by 11 pm. I could feel my body growing weak and my eyelids getting heavy. I decided i should probably get to sleep.

As i got up to go to my bed, something out in the distance caught my eye. I slowly leaned onto the bench, peering through the window. I stared at the trees to the right of the lake where i had seen the movement. I squinted at the area. Maybe it was another deer. I shook my head and began to stand up. But right before i moved away. I saw something that made me stop moving and stare.
