Chapter 4

"Let's go left!" Ed commanded.

"Fine," I groaned as I used a sharp rock to trace our path.

We continued exploring the Maze for about four more hours. When we turned right, we saw walls, when we turned left, we saw walls. Even when he just walked straight, we saw walls. The thought of seeing walls everyday was taking over my mind. I felt dizzy and nauseus. Not to mention, hunger was also taking over my mind.

"What's this?" Ed said while I didn't stop walking and hit Alby. He gave me a dirty look.

"World in Catastrophe," he said slowly as he traced the words.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Alby asked.

"How would we bloody know?" Newt said.

"Never asked you," he replied.

"Look what is says here. Killzone Experiment Department."

"I have a feeling you all are pretty hungry," I said.

"That's right, I could use a snack," agreed Ed.

"Let's get back to the Glade," Newt said.

"Guys! I have a path back home!" I said.

"What path?" asked Ed confused.

"You shanks never listened," I muttered while rolling my eyes.

"Good job Minho," Newt said as he patted my back.

They followed the path back home without thanking me.

Life has been like that for a month.

"Let's get to the Box!" commanded Ed.

Just as Alby did to me, he hauled the opening of the Box to reveal a 'Newbie'. A dark skinned boy leaned against the metal box. This time, Ed jumped in and continued with the greeting. The boy's name was Siggy; he had very short black hair, a dark complexion and a fatter body structure. He was confused just as any other Glader on their first day. But he soon opened up.

"Hey! Any lunch for me?" Siggy asked.

"Where's your kitchen?" he added.

"A kitchen? We don't have one. No one is really a chef around here," I replied.

"I can cook," he said.

"Don't tell me. Tell Ed or Alby, they can do something. Maybe they can make a kitchen or so," I said. He got up to ask Ed to approve of his idea. By the next week, the kitchen was finished.

"I must admit, you can cook." Siggy gave me a sly grin.

"Call me Frypan!" he said.
