Chapter 1: Welcome to Your New Life (3/4)

I found my way into the girl's dorms, since I'm carrying Alice on my back. I need to bring her home first hoping to return her to where she might live right now since I don't know if she's living in the dorms in the first place. But, it's better than her suddenly waking up at the academy's subway station and with her looking hurt, is more of a reason for me to bring her to her home. The girl's dormitory isn't really that far away from the subway entrance so it wasn't really a big deal. The area feels like a large park with a wide main road which leads to either the main entrance of the grounds or the building. The way to the girl's dormitory was to my right when I came out of the subway, while the way to mine was to my left.

But I must say that today has been quite the experience. I get to move abroad to transfer to Goldencrow Academy even though I lost my luggage. I get to share my compendium with one of my favourite heroes whom right now I'm carrying on my back. She even invited me to become her partner. Finally, I get to actually witness a fight between both heroes in front of my eyes rather than looking in from live news coverage or internet videos and test my knowledge of the situation to help one of them. Things has never been so much more exciting for a "Quirk-nerd" like me.

I look behind me to see Alice's condition. She's still sleeping. She seems very exhausted. I wonder why Jack was so forceful and insistent to her to release me from being her partner. I do feel that his intentions were good, but his approach was just not the best. Something must've happened to Alice. Since I'm now her partner, I need to do everything to ensure her safety. I need to find Jack tomorrow to ask him. I looked at the door thereafter and knocked the glass. Taking a peek, it seems there's actually someone in the lobby but the person did not hear me knocking. I decide to knock one more time and it seems this time the person inside hears me. As the silhouette came closer to the door, I took a step back as the person inside opens it.

"Hello... Can I help you?"
"Actually..." I turned my body sideways. The girl's gasps and her face shows panic.
"Alice?! What happened?"
"I will explain later, but getting her to her room is more important right now. Can you tell me where it is? I promise I'll explain everything after."
"Umm... You can go and lay her down in my room instead. She doesn't live here in the dorms. Her house is in the royal district but it's not too far. But it would be troubling for a stranger to carry her in the middle of the night, right?" She explains to me with worry.
"Alright, can you guide me?"
"Of course."

Right after that I follow her to her room. I'm quite thankful that she's fine with a boy entering the girl's dorm and one of the rooms inside it, but I guess it's because it's an emergency. But if somebody else sees this, they could get the wrong idea. I best hope nobody gets near us then. I enter her room and immediately lay Alice down on the girl's bed. The girl then sits beside her.
"Oh Alice..." She looks worried.
"What did you do this time?" She puts her hand on Alice's forehead.
"It's cold. She's exhausted." The girl looks at me and calls to me.
"Could you get me the remote to the room's heater? I need to make this place hot enough for her to not feel cold."
"Yeah, sure. Where is it?"
"On the desk."

I grabbed the remote and handed it to her. She's not going to warm up the room. I think she's going to make the room feel like it's burning. She even shut her windows down and turned all the lights on. I guess when it comes to Alice, being cold is equivalent for us being hot when in a fever. She then returned the remote to her desk and goes to open to her room's door.
"Let's talk outside, it would be dangerous if anyone sees you here."
"Right... Will she be fine?"
"She will. This isn't the first time. The same thing has happened a few times before." She sighed.

We then go outside and sit on a nearby bench on the terrace. I looked at her and noticed that I've seen her before. Pink hair with a short bob-cut hairstyle. A single earing on her right ear and always carries a set of bubble blowing toy on her belt pouch. Then after a while it hit me.
"Are you... The Bubble Priestess?" She suddenly sighed as I asked that question.
"I'd rather you not call me by my title. But yes, my name is Viala Tchakova and to answer the question. Yes, I am." She then takes her bubble toy and blows the handle, creating bubbles. It looked like that she's actually smoking cigarettes, but instead of smoke it's bubbles.
"Now, can you tell me what happened?"
"Yeah... Sorry, I'll tell you everything,"
