As we walked out of the hall, Alice filled me in on what I missed while I was deep in thought earlier. The principal actually announced that real class starts tomorrow and today was the day students are given the chance to get-to-know their partners or for some, find one. We then strolled around the academy and enjoyed talking about silly little things and many other things as well. I didn't know that she is actually this happy-go-lucky.
"Principal Melia is really nice." She stated. "She's probably the only woman I knew who could create, host and lead a proper group therapy session." She jokingly said.
"If she heard you say that she might get offended, her quirk is way too cool and too important for a therapy session." I stated.
"You think? so what would she be more useful for? Huge crowd control?" She curiously asked.
"Nope, I hoped that was possible. From what I know her drawback is quite fatal. If she didn't have this fatal flaw her quirk would be very important if she went into a fight. Her quirk cannot affect someone she doesn't know. That's her drawback. This is why crowd control is out of the question unless It's a group that she knows." I explained.
"You really do know everything do you?" She teased.
"I'm not a psychic."
"Psychics can be wrong too. I think you're a God" She chuckled in response.
"The world may be doomed if I'm to be God." I laughed.
Alice and I kept on strolling around the Academy. We went through the cafeteria, the park area, and the lake area. Sometimes it felt like she was tour guiding me. Alice wanted to show me the classes and the training grounds as well as facilities inside the academy but apparently, it's all locked and closed today except for the great hall. I guess Principal Melia was very keen and encouraging to us students getting along with each other. Even the bell tower who according to Alice was never locked got locked as well today. With no other choice, we went to the subway under the academy and took it to Azuria subway station. We chose to hang around there since the place is also beautiful. The view of looking out into a giant aquarium as we talk calms my mind a little.
"Hey, I've been thinking... About our conversation about Principal Melia earlier."
"What about it?" I confusingly asked. "Are you actually afraid you offended her?"
"No..." She gave out a sad chuckle. Then, Alice fell silent. "I wonder what she felt when she was using her quirk against Kuchi... Her own brightest student."
Hearing Kuchi's name, I chose to stay silent. It was not my business at this moment to ask and pry. Viala said it to me as well. Judging by both Viala's and Alice's reactions, he might apparently be a really important friend in days past. Until now, his goals, objectives and also motives of his defection are still unknown. I haven't had the chance to study Kuchi before enrolling. Since the incident, He basically went out of the radar. Alice went silent for a while she looked to me. As if she wanted to tell something.
"What would you feel, Shiki? If you are to fight your own best friend. Who's always been there from your darkest days and helped you grow from the start. On a battle between life and death...?" Alice questioned me.
I wasn't expecting this, I was taken aback with the sudden question. "Personally, I wouldn't know what to do as well." I truthfully answered.
Alice showed me a sad smile. "Yeah... I guess so." She gazed into the deep seas.
"I feel like I should be telling you this as soon as possible. Considering you are my partner after all." She explained.
Instinctively, I nodded. If this is what she wanted, I might as well accept it for both of us.
