After a while, he soon "Dang ... this place is depressing" he remarked.

"Wars wiped the land of its beauty," Boe said looking a little sad. The sun rose and the heat became scorching.

Jack hummed "yeah I've heard a little about those wars during school. But they don't sound too believable. The Telumbra always talk about how they 'Saved us' and how 'if it wasn't for us you humans wouldn't have survived any longer'." Jack sighed and looked up at the sky, "I knew there was something fishy about that stuff," he said, looking over at Boe as she walked beside him.

"W-Well in an odd way they did. They prevented the war from continuing but enslaved those who were left and trapping them in cities." Boe said wiping away some sweat.

Jack let out a deep breath and lifted up a hand to shield him from the sun. "Yeah, I guess you're right with that one. But the enslaving thing I really don't get", He said, "Gosh it's hot" he added.

Boe nodded, "T-They eat you." She said looking for shade for Jack.

Jack looked over at Boe with disbelief "T-T-They eat you?" He asked, not hearing that before.

"N-No...well yes but they eat humans. You're all trapped in a cage. Why do you think so many disappear?" She asked pulling him towards another relic of the past sticking from the sand.

Jack slowed down a little, pieces of his mind jigsaw clicking into place "Holy crap yeah," he said quietly. He shook the thought from his mind and carried on but noticed where she was guiding him to.

The shade was small but it was better than the alternative. She pulled him into the shade with a sigh of relief.

Jack equally sighed in relief. He went to sit down but his legs gave up a little too quickly and he ended up falling down to the sandy floor. He grunted and pulled himself up to a seating position.

Boe took the bag from him and gave him a little water as she took off her shoes and forcing the sand out.

Jack nodded in thanks "cheers" he said, and drunk a few gulps but held himself back, trying to ration it a little. He took a deep breath and looked around at the desolate land "Are there any animals still out here?" He asked.

"Some, and I'll try to catch us some if we need." She said giving him a bit of food as she took some herself. She didn't want to drink the water though he would need that more than him.

Jack nodded "Okay... D-do you want any water?" He offered, noticing her not taking any.

"N-No Trodo don't need as much water." She lied, they did need water but she was stronger than him and thought she could stand being thirsty longer.

Jack frowned a little "Well you're still human-" he said, "aren't you?" He asked, not exactly too sure himself.

"Sorta but we're stronger than normal human's," Boe said smiling at him to reassure him.

Jack shrugged "Okay," he said and took a final sip of his drink before pushing up onto his feet. "Okay, we're not gonna make much progress if we're sitting about," he said.

Boe nodded and took the bag from now on as they stepped back out into the hot air.

Jack almost protested taking the bag but then let her. He sighed and looked at her "Are you alright?" He asked.

"I'll be okay," Boe said as the continued through the hot dry sands.

Jack hummed a little before continuing through the heat.

Jack could feel his face dripping with sweat, every now and then he'd wipe his shirt on his forehead, despite his shirt being soaking wet. "How .... how much further?" He asked, finishing up a last bottle of water.
