Levi yawned, bright pearlescent wings expanding to their full potential behind him as he stared into the portal in front of him.
He recalled the first time he'd seen it. When the 'boss' had summoned him to watch his mate fall apart.
Petra had, in all honesty, been a shitty choice for a mate, Levi must admit.
Their relationship had been full of deceit, pain and a desperate longing. But not for each other.
Levi supposed it wasn't his fault, and yawned once more in boredom.
Hange; his partner, was late.
They had things to do, people to grace with their presence.
Yet here Levi was, waiting for the mad woman.
"You're late." She flinched, startled that the man knew that she was there. Until she remembered, that Levi was an alpha.
An experienced alpha.
"Y-Yes, I'm sorry." Her tongue moved to wet her lips, and she gulped, moving to stand with Levi.
"Don't let it happen again, we have things to do."

Stepping through the portal, their eyes looked around in concern.
They hoped the fallen hadn't arrived before them, and they both sighed in relief when their eyes landed on the child in front of them.
Hange hated this part of their job, the children.
Levi stepped forward with pursed lips, it seemed he was taking this one.
His fingertips twitched, before they made contact with the small child's chin, gently lifting the girls head.
She stared blankly at him, and his eyes shimmered with a golden glow.
It would be like this for her, she would not recall her memories. She was far too young.
If you are over the age of thirteen, you shall remember your life.
If not...
The glow dissipated and Levi bit his lip, nodding his head in Hange's direction.
She was much more experienced in the practice of making others feel welcome.
She began to approach, before her eyes went wide and she stilled, eyes darting to Levi.
Levi's eyes hardened, watching the dark portal appear in front of them.
The child looked between them in confusion, and Hange beckoned her to stand behind her.
The child scurried to obey, and Levi stood to his full height in front of the two.
They had made their claim, it was too late.
Through the portal stepped Petra, followed by an omega he had never seen before.
Why hadn't he seen that one... he sees every one that passes through.
"Hello Levi." Petra's cruel smile was something the raven had gotten used to, but he couldn't get over the fangs that now sat in the betas jawset.
