Chapter 28

Austin went to Amyra's office and asked the security guard Len's number.

He quickly dialed Len's number and Austin felt his heart pumping faster.

"What if she isn't there at Len's place as well? What am I gonna do? Where am I gonna search her?"

Austin was bewildered. He was broke. This night was hard on him.

After calling Len continuously for 2-3 times he finally picked up the call.

"Hello".

"Is Amyra with you?" questioned Austin hastily.

"Uh...yeah. Who's this?" questioned Len.

"It's Austin give me your address. I'm coming to pick her up".

Austin relaxed for a moment and felt his breath return after knowing Amyra is safe.

Austin got Len's address he followed it and reached his house. The 15 min ride to Len's house seemed like hours.

He rushed inside and rung the door bell. Len dressed up in track pants and black t-shirt came outside.

"Austin, come inside".

Austin stepped inside and his eyes tried to search for Amyra.

"Where is she?" questioned Austin.

"Who?" replied Len.

"AMYRA".

"She left. I told her that I will drop you but she didn't listen to me" replied Len.

"Why didn't you stop her dammit. Which way?".

"The city road".

After searching Amyra for about 10-15 minutes Austin finally found her sitting on the road all by her self.

As soon as Amyra saw Austin she raised her head up and whispered "cheat".

"Amyra what the hell on earth do you think of yourself. Where were you? I was searching you for so long" bursted out Austin.

"Searching me for what? Killing me like you murdered Sancia and Emma?" questioned Amyra.

"What? What nonsense?".

Amyra stood up folded her hands and stared into Austin's eyes.

"You killed them, didn't you?".

"No, I am somewhat responsible for their death...but I didn't kill them"

"Forget about Emma. She belonged to your clan. Why Sancia? Austin, you knew she was the only friend I had".

"Listen to me Amyra, if you were at my place, you would have done the same thing".

"You lied to me Austin. You proved Sancia's mother right. I made a mistake trusting you" mumbled Amyra.

"You are taking me all wrong. Don't blame me for something I didn't do" replied Austin.

"No, I'm not" whispered Amyra.

"Let's go home. I don't want to make a scene on the road" said Austin.

"No Austin I'm not going anywhere with you" replied Amyra.

"Okay then hear me out".

"NO" shouted Amyra.

Austin took a step forward, but as soon as he did Amyra took a step backwards. The fact that Amyra was scared of him was hurting Austin from inside.

"Amyra Jacob you are just making this shit complicated. Listen to me first then it's up to you leave and never come back to me" said Austin.

"Did you just really say that?" whispered Amyra.

Austin quickly regretted for the words he used. His words brought tears to Amyra's eyes.

"The beautiful moments which we have spend together are enough for me to survive" replied Austin.

"Tell me. What happened that night?" said Amyra.

"That night after I came to save you I saw that you had gone unconscious. My dad wasn't in town and the werewolf was strong enough to be defeated. He wanted you but agreed to switch Sancia instead".

"It would have been better if I had died that day. I have no one to cry after me. What about Sancia's mother" whispered Amyra.

"What about me Amyra? What if you were at my place that day and you had to choose between me and some random person?I don't know Sancia. She doesn't mean anything to me, but you... you are my whole world. Can't see a werewolf tear and eat you up in front of me" said Austin.

"Oh..."

"So, do you still think it was my mistake?" questioned Austin.

"Not really".

"Are you still mad at me?" questioned Austin.

"Yes, yes I am" whispered Amyra.

"What now?".

"I don't know" replied Amyra.

"I'm sorry" .

"Austin, drop me home".
