Chapter 17

"Kai!" Lloyd yelled at the hot head who had just proceed to burn the lock to the room they were in, thus setting off an alarm.

"I didn't know an alarm would go off!" Kai retorted.

"Maybe you two should stop arguing and start running." Nya butted in, pulling the two to run with her down the soon to not be empty hallway as Zane followed close behind.

"What's your name?" Jay asked, a kind and curious tone to his voice as he walked willingly with his kidnapper.

"Alex." They replied flatly, leading Jay through the many corridors of the building.

"That a pretty name. I like your hair." Jay pointed out, complimenting the short hair that had a purple tint to it.

"You like to talk a lot."

"Have you seen Cole?" He asked, ignoring their statement.

"..." they paused for a minute. He shouldn't be able to remember any of his friends... it was how their powers worked, he shouldn't be- "I'm taking him to you now." Alex said mundanely, suppressing emotion.

"Yay!" Jay cheered. Alarms started to suddenly sound. Alex jumped for a moment before going back to normal. Boss would likely deal with it, so they had nothing to worry about.

"Jay!" Cole smiled happily as his door was opened by Jay and his captor. Alex let Jay go and he rushed to hug Cole.

"How'd you get here? I thought you were safe?" Cole asked confused.

"Alex kidnapped me." Jay answered, pointing behind him to Alex.

"They don't look that dangerous?" Cole was right. Alex had a small build and didn't look threatening in the slightest with the bored expression on their face.

Alex ignored Cole, pulling out a walk talky. "Sir, they're together. The next stage of your plan can start-" They spoke. Before Alex could finish their sentence they collapsed to the ground. From behind Alex stood Kai (who had just knocked them out), and the others.

"Guys?!"

"Kai comes through again." Kai smiled to himself.

"We're being chased. Hurry up and follow." Nya announced as the rest followed after her.

They all bolted down the hallways, trying their best to avoid any eyes.

"Jay do you remember which way you came here?" Lloyd asked frantically.

"I can't remember anything." Jay answered.

"We don't have time for this, I'll just smash our way out." Cole said, stopping and aiming his fist at a wall.

"What if you can't get your powers to work?" Jay asked nervously.

"I'll have to." Cole answered confidently, swinging his fist out. As his fist connected with the wall it fell apart, creating a large hole. Luckily past that hole was the front entrance, the main part of the building where they had first started their 'adventure'. The large storage space. They rushed to the front, Kai slamming his hand on a red button that hung from the wall and the doors started to open. Bullets started to wiz past the group as their chasers caught up to them.The ninja were fast enough to duck through the still opening doors and make a bolt for it, staying close to the buildings and blending into the shadows.

"They escaped sir." An assistant announced, setting down Charlie's cup of tea for him with a nervous expression.

"Whatever, we have enough information on them that if they try to stop us they'll regret it." He said flatly, waving his hand as he took a sip of his tea.

"I've had my fun, but we should get back to our original plan." He smiled.
