Chapter 5-Max

I drove home, with Mia in the car. She tapped my shoulder, from the backseat, and I shook my head, I couldn't pay attention to her and drive and I wanted to be careful. "When we get home go to our room ok?"

A sigh from her and a nod. "Good, I want you to be safe, and if the car is in the driveway you know what to do?" I knew she did, I just needed to make sure, I looked in the mirror and she nodded again. "Don't make any noise and we'll be ok, alright?"

She rolled her eyes and stuck out her tongue. I laughed as we pulled into the complex, though it turned into a small smile as I saw the car wasn't there. "We're good Mia!"

'That's good, I was worried, to be honest,' She signed, and sighed.

"Yeah me too sis, I'll make dinner and clean up a little, you stay in the room," She nodded and smiled, "Love you," I opened my arms for a hug which she gladly accepted.

'I love you too' She turned and skipped off to our room, and I turned around and looked for some hamburger helper, I swore I bought some two days ago! I opened the cabinet and smiled when I found it.

"Time to make... alfredo," I started boiling up the water and took out my homework while I was waiting. "What the fuck, 'Solve for h', this shit makes no sense!" I put it to the side and pulled out my bio homework. It was easy enough.

The timer beeped and I finished up making the sauce. Pouring some on the pasta I walked into our room, knocking and remembering that Mia couldn't hear. I walked behind her and tapped her shoulder.

'Smells good!' I handed her the plate and waited for her reaction, 'It's good too!'

I smiled, "Heh, that's good," I finished eating mine well after my sister did, "Seconds?" A head shake, "Alright, give me your plate,"

I just finished up washing our plates when a car pulled into the driveway. Taking the rest of the pasta upstairs I warned Mia, "Go to sleep alright?" She nodded and laid down. After a bit I heard small snores.

I locked the door and tried to sleep myself. Though of course I couldn't.

I woke up to pounding on the door, I'm assuming my father. "MAXWELL!" Yep, "WAKE UP I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU SISTER IS SAYING," Fuck. They have Mia.

"Uh, alright, we need to get to school soon though... uh, like right now to be honest, and if we're late they'll call you!" He grumbled and turned away.

"Clean the fucking house tonight," He took a swig from the bottle in his hand, I didn't know it was there.

"Alright," He glared at me, "Sir, uh, bye," I stood up and rushed to where I thought Mia was, and she was right where I thought. "Hey Mia, we're gonna scram to school,"

She nodded, 'Fuck Mother and Father,' I smiled but scolded her on language. Jesus, I sounded like Mr. David.

"True, but don't say it around them," She smiled and grabbed my hand, leading me to the car, she always enjoyed school. Maybe it was because she was away from home, or she had friends, I never asked.

I dropped Mia off at her school, and heading to my school. I popped into my first period, successfully avoiding the morning meetup, I didn't think we did anything then anyway, though I did feel a bit guilty.

But, life goes on, and so does school. First period P.E with the most bitchy person ever!! Coach Campbell!

I always changed in the stalls, for obvious reasons, and just as I opened the door, Coach yelled at me.

"YOUNG MAN, you know that's against the rules, what the hell are you doing," He smacked a hand on my shoulder, and I tensed up. I couldn't change with people seeing me, they'd notice what was wrong with me, and-and I'd go into foster care, and I couldn't see my sister, and we'd both-

I cut myself off, I could have a panic attack during lunch, not right now. "Sorry sir, no can do, why, do you wanna see what I look like under my clothes," With any luck, that accusation would make him back off.

"What?! No, ew," He let go and I backed into the stall and locked the door, leaving Coach out, and changing.

What an ass.
