CHAPTER TEN
ARRIVALS§ § §
"How much do you think they'll show off?" I ask Pansy as I take my seat at my table in the Great Hall. She smirked at me.
"Enough to turn the gay guys straight." She said and I laughed.
"Let's find out." I turned to Eli, who was on the other side of me, and Pansy laughed. "Mr. Jones, you're very gay, what do you have to say?" I held my fist up to my mouth as if holding a microphone.
He leaned to talk to my hand. "I have one thing to say," He paused, "Fuck you Giovanna Potter."
I rolled my eyes but grinned and turned away just as the doors to the Great Hall opened, I sighed. "And let the games begin."
Dumbledore began to speak. "Please join me in welcoming the lovely ladies of the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, and their headmistress, Madam Maxine!"
The girls all walked in in a uniformed walk in a uniformed grouping wearing the same uniform. I turned to the people sitting around me. "I'd positively take a knife through the gut if I had to go there."
"Why?" Eli rolled his eyes. "Because it would mean that you would actually have to act like a lady?"
"Sod off. You're right, but still... sod off." I winked and returned my attention back to the 'show'.
They performed their stupid dance routine, and at least five winked at Eli. He was smirking at me the whole time. All the Hogwarts boys were basically falling our of their seats while drooling.
I couldn't help but turn to look at Draco. I was surprised to find him lazily stabbing his food with his fork.
I grinned a little. "What? Not enjoying the show?"
He leaned back, his fork clattering down onto the plate. "They're not that pretty. I've seen prettier." He shrugged. "Someone who doesn't need to be half Veela to be stunning." He blushed a little.
I raised my eyebrows. "Draco Malfoy, complimenting someone? What a rare occasion! I'm glad I could be here to witness it!" I laughed. "Who's this lucky lady?"
"Would you two shut the bloody hell up? I'm trying to watch them." Eli hissed right as Draco was about to answer. I sent him a grin before turning my attention back to the girls.
Draco was actually being really nice. A part of me hoped that he was talking about me, but a more realistic side said that it was just hope. Why would Draco Malfoy say that about me? Sure we almost kissed, but we're just friends.
When they finished, most of the boys jumped up to clap, while the others cheered and whistled. The girls stayed in their seats, rolling our eyes and resting our chin in our hands. Dumbledore raised his hands to silence the cheers.
"Now, our friends from the North, please greet the proud sons of Durmstrang, and their highmaster, Igor Karkaroff!" He called.
"Now this is what I'm looking forward to." I smirked.
"Shut it. I can win them all over just like I did with the ladies." Eli smirked. I raised my eyebrows.
"Oh, really?"
"Yes, really. They'll all be gay the second they lay their eyes on me."
"I don't think so, they'll be too busy staring at me." I smirked, flipping my hair over my shoulder.
"No." Draco piped up from across the table. We turned to look at him. He quickly coughed. "Sorry, I was just uh, answering Zabini-"
"I didn't ask you anything-" Blaise started, but Draco whacked his head.
"Yes, you did." He muttered, looking down. Blaise turned to me and shook his head. I frowned and looked away.
The boys came in and performed their routine. I was bored, none of them really interested me. That is, until the last student walked into the room. "That's Victor Krum!" I join the murmurs.
"Don't tell me you've fallen for Krum, Potter." Blaise smirks.
I scoff. "Of course not. I don't care for him at all, I'd just love to play him in Quidditch and learn from him. He's not attractive in my opinion." I glanced at Draco, who had perked up. "I have a thing for blondes, mostly." I shrugged turning away, but not before seeing Draco smile.
