Sunday, August 9th
I dropped my schedule and my suitcase and immediately fell face first into the yellow concrete floor. My baseball cap had fallen beside my schedule which was underneath the person who had ran into me. I groaned in pain and I turned towards the guy in a uniform beside me. He was staring back at me with a small smirk on his face. He was around 5'11, he had dark brown dreadlocks, he also had caramel colored skin along with light freckles and the most cocky grin. I looked at him confused and turned on my back ready to get up. I was ready to leave this scene immediately to avoid the embarrassment of it being my first day and already falling flat on my face. The guy beside me stood up with no problem as if nothing happened and looked down at me. "I'm so sorry, are you okay?", he asked me as he extended his arm in front of me and offered to help me up. I accepted his offer and grabbed his hand as he lifted me off the ground with no problem at all. I felt his muscles contract as he lifted me up, damn was he strong. "Yeah, I'm okay," I replied avoiding eye contact as I bent down reaching for my schedule, suitcase, and cap. "Oh, let me get that for you," the guy said as he grabbed my schedule and baseball cap off the floor then retrieved my suitcase. He wiped off the dust on my cap and attempted to unwrinkle my schedule which was already torn by the fall then proceeded to hand it to me. I nodded as a way to say thank you and put back on my cap and stared at my torn schedule. "I'm Louis," he said as he looked at me up and down. "And I bet you can't guess what my last name is", Louis said with a grin on his face as he did a 360 turn so I could see the back of his black and yellow jersey with Smith written in bold letters above the letter 07. "I'm gonna guess...hmm...Smitherson?," I said with a small smile on my face. He returned the smile and replied, "Close enough". Louis then asked me, "And what shall I call such a striking beauty such as yourself?". I felt my face get flustered as I replied, "I'm Clementine Everett". "Clementine?...like the fruit?...hmm...orange you glad you met me?," Louis said with a small chuckle and a grin on his face. I let out a small laugh and looked back at my torn schedule. "HEY LOUIS!," someone shouted from across the hallway, "GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE AND STOP FLIRTING WITH THE NEW GIRL". Louis lifted his hand and gave them the middle finger as I laughed. "I should probably return to my fellow jocks but if you need me, I'll be in the football field wanting to return to my beautiful piano," he said as he looked at me one more time. "Sorry about the fall, orange, but I hope I see you around," he said as he finally took off jogging to his friends. Orange? I thought. I adjusted my backpack and fixed my cap as I looked back down at my schedule to find my dorm.

I wandered around the hallways glancing around me looking for somebody who looked approachable and could help me. I saw these group of girls look at me then turn back around once they saw me looking. One of the girls walked up to me and said, "You look lost". I replied, "Is it that obvious?...". She gave me a warm smile and asked me what I needed help with. I asked her if she knew where Dormitory 5 was and she nodded and offered to lead the way. I felt like I was following her around like a lost puppy. Many people glanced at me as I walked behind her but I tried my best to make it seem as if I hadn't noticed.

As she lead the way I was able to explore the school a bit. I learned where some of the classrooms were, who the people in my grade are, and where my locker is. After many turns and going up staircases, we reached a long brown hallway with the numbers 1-20 on the room doors. "Here we are, the dormitory," she announced to me as she gave me a warm smile. I thanked her and returned the warm smile. "If you need anything I'll be in room 2, I'm Brody, by the way," she said as she reached into her backpack and pulled out her dormitory key and walked in the left direction to the door labeled Dormitory 2 then entered her room. I walked to the door labeled Dormitory 5 and grabbed the keys from my pocket and unlocked the door.

The door unlocked and I pushed it open and saw a girl sitting on her desk sketching something. She immediately turned towards me and looked at me up and down. Why does everybody look at me up and down. She turned back towards her sketch as she said, "I'm Violet." I walked in and put my things down on the spare bed on the other side of the room as I said, "I'm Clementine". I gave Violet a small smile but she seemed to not have noticed. I started to unpack my things in silence since Violet didn't seem like much of a talker. I unpacked only the essential things that I needed. After I unpacked my things I decided to lay down in my bed and call Lee.

I called Lee as I stared at my ceiling fan hearing the phone ringing. I turned towards Violet who was looking at me but turned away once I looked back. I turned back towards the ceiling when I eventually heard Hey, you've reached Lee Everett, I cannot come to the phone right now but- , I canceled the call and began to wonder why Lee wasn't answering. I came to the resolution that I was worrying over nothing and that Lee and AJ were doing perfectly okay without me. I missed them. It's only been a couple of hours but I have rarely ever been away from them for even an hour.

I began to grow tired from packing even though it was barely 6:08pm. I decided I'd take a nap to take my mind off of Lee. This school didn't seem as bad as I thought it would be, except for my roommate seeming to hate me and running into a random guy, other than that, it was a pretty decent and normal day. I looked out the window next to my bed as my eyelids slowly began closing. As my eyes almost completely closed and my mind was slowly drifting into sleep, I could faintly hear Violet on call with her parents. They seemed to be arguing. "Why'd you abandon me? Was I not perfect enough?", was the last thing I heard before I completely fell asleep.
