I groggily sat up, waiting for the morning announcement.

"A body had been discovered!" Monokuma cheered. I shot up. "Everyone report to the ultimate director's lab!" The announcement ended. I was already out of my room by the time it ended. I saw Kaoru and Naoki over at the boy's dorm and we ran full speed to Eiko's lab.

"Who is it?" I asked Rokuro, Kotone, and Sachiko, the three who discovered the body.

"Katashi," Kotone bit her lip and sighed. I tried to say something but my breath was caught in my throat.

"Well," Kaoru replied, taking in a shaky breath, "let's start investigating."

"This lock was on the door," Kotone handed a weirdly oversized lock to me.

"This is foam," I tossed it up casually.

"That's weird," Kaoru noted.

"I'm gonna open the door," I sucked in my breath and pushed the door open. The scene wasn't that bloody, just Katashi's body on the floor. A bloody knife was sitting next to him. Naoki gasped and Kaoru sighed, pulling a hand through his hair weakly. I sighed too, knowing I had to push past it.

"How'd he die?" Naoki asked, shaking. I got on my knees and peered at the body.

"There's a lot of blood around his neck. I'm going with slit throat." I put a hand to his neck.

"Makes sense, the medium likes to touch bodies," Kameko sneered.

"No one asked for your damn opinion," Kotone spat back at her. Everyone had arrived by now and Monokuma jumped out from somewhere. Shirou yelped.

"Now that all the slackers have gotten here, it's time for a classic. The Monokuma file!" All of our Monopads beeped and I pulled mine out. A new file was available and I opened it. "This has some of the evidence, but you'll need to find some on your own too ya pests." Monokuma laughed before leaving. I clicked on the victim tab.

I nodded and clicked on the situation tab.

The victim's body was found in Ultimate Director's lab
The estimated time of death was 10:30 pm
The victim was killed by a cut to the throat
No other injuries are evident

"Hmm," Kaoru looked at me, "something's missing here."

"Yeah......" I trailed off, "time of death!" I realized after a couple seconds.

"That's gotta be something for us to figure out," Kaoru assessed.

"Let's investigate," I said after putting my Monopad away.

"This is the murder weapon, right?" Naoki gestured towards a knife on the ground. He'd calmed down by now.

"Probably," I picked it up by the handle. "Or not," I felt plastic.

"What?" Kaoru asked before looking at it closer. "It's plastic." I nodded.

"Is this real blood?" I took a bitter inhale and sniffed it. "Smells metallic."

"Is it the murder weapon?" Naoki asked.

"No," I replied.
