Where Are We?- Chapter 12

\Jays POV/

"Well This looks great!" Rhys sarcastically smiled glancing around the town we had teleported to. The town nearest to us was deserted with old broken down houses and cobwebs as far as the eye could see.

"Must of been deserted" Flash pointed out his voice muffling at the end as he walked into one of the houses. I slowly wandered forward, each step I took made a ruffled sound as the path was made of gravel. I was on full alert with my tail raised high and my ears on point. This place seemed odd, why was there no villagers in it?

"Guys I feel droplets of water!" Apple announced pointing up to the sky. I followed her hand and stared up at the white stars, tonight was clear yet it was so sad... I had lost everything. My home, my step parents. Everything!

"Ah the sky's peeing on us!" Rhys yelled sprinting into a house made out of cobble and wood, this house seemed to be the one that stood out. It wasn't damaged at all unlike the others. I jogged over to the front of the wooden door and inspected the inside. It had a large table in the middle with 8 large chairs around it. In the back of the room were huge book cases filled with all kinds of things as well as books.

I stepped into the dusty house and felt a chill run over me as if something terrible had happened. This place was not safe.

"Guys can we find a different spooky house?" I asked taking a few steps back to get out of that creepy place.

"Nonsense! This will be fine!" Mat smirked pushing me into the house and onto a chair. I sprang up scanning the one big room, everyone was here. As I was scanning I noticed a trap door in the corner of the room.

"Guys what's that?" Saphire spoke in a hushed tone. She had taken the words right out of my mouth.

"Only one way to find out!" John shouted as he opened the trap door and jumped down the hole. We waited for him to say something or give us a signal however there was nothing.

"John you okay buddy?" Mat questioned looking down the hole.

After ten worried-full seconds later John responded "Yep perfectly fine! There's someone down here!" Mat looked up at us then pulled out his sword and carefully went down.

"Hey guys come check this out!" Mat ordered. I shrugged as I strolled up to the pitch black hole. What was down there? Only one way to find out. I hopped down and to my surprise there was a ladder. I climbed down speedily, once I reached the bottom there were lava lamps glowing all different colours. I turned around to see the two boys at a bar with a lady standing and talking to them.

"Um... Hello?" I walked forward, the lady had purple hair tied into to pony tails that came off the right and left side of her head (pig tails), she wore a dress that was blue with a white apron over it.

"Hey Jay this is Melody, she works as a bar made!" John chirped like a child on Christmas, he was probably excited as this was a bar and he could get some drinks.

"Uh huh..." I replied checking out the dusty old room "so where is everyone?" I wonderer looking at one of the lava lamps.

"Pardon?" Melody replied, I span around and walked up to the bar counter.

"Where Is everyone?" I repeated, I was losing my patience. She looked puzzled for a second and tilted her head to the side.

"They should be up there, but I'm not sure. I'm not real you see! I'm made by magic and I can't leave this room as my soul purpose is to serve real people such as yourselves" She answered. I scoffed and dragged the boys by the ears to the rest of the group in the back.

"I don't trust her" Saphire confessed, Apple nodded in agreement.

"Yeah this isn't natural, I say we go to another town" I added, the two girls agreed but as usual-

"What's wrong with it! We have food, drinks, a place to stay! Why not stay the night and leave in the morning! It will keep us safe from the mobs!" Mat suggested making John quiver at the word 'mob'. I sighed and looked at the girls who also knew the boys were not going to leave when there was alcoholic drinks involved.

"Fine we'll stay but I'm not coming back down here" Apple demanded climbing up the ladder.

"Me too!" Saphire flicked her hair as she clambered after Apple squeezing hair wings into the gap.

"Me three I guess" I followed the girls to the top and we all just stared at each other.

"Let's just make ourselves at home till we can leave tomorrow" I sat into one of the huge leather chairs that were nice enough to sleep on. I started to close my eyes and fall into sleep.

"Wake up the nights still young!" Rhys yelled jogging over to us with a deck of cards in his hands.

"Rhy if I'm honest, after what happened earlier... I need the rest" Apple said almost choking on her words. She was right it had been a bad night...

"That's why we need a break! A good old game of poker should do the trick!" He jumped into a chair sliding the cards onto the table. Flash walked in with drinks in a box in his hands.

"Here you go! I thought we'd start of with lemonade!" He announced sloping into a chair. The others came up too, Mat was holding the betting coins.

"Melody gave us all the equipment, she said the first round of drinks were on her but if you want more we'd have to pay with the coins (chips) we had." John explained as he and Mat sat down leaving a chair empty.

"Fine then let's play!" Flash exclaimed as he got the cards, shuffled them and started dealing them. This was going to be a long night.
