Chapter 2: Coming Home

That night once school was out, Tadashi and I headed to his apartment above his aunt's cafe. He opened the front door for me when we got there, and we had to head upstairs. His aunt was in the kitchen making food.

"Hey, Aunt Cass," Tadashi says softly.

"There he is," She said with a smile before hugging him. "And who's this?"

"This is Neva, I know her from school. And she's um, my..."

"Your girlfriend?"

"Yeah..."

"I'm so proud of you!" She hugged him before coming over to me. "Hi, I'm Tadashi's Aunt Cass."

"And like he said, I'm Neva. It's nice to meet you," I replied with a smile before I shook her hand.

"You're freezing, do you need a sweater or something, darling?"

"No, I'm okay," I was replying as Tadashi took off the sweater he was wearing and put it over my shoulders. "Tadashi's taken care of me."

"I'm glad. Have you met Hiro yet?"

"No, not yet."

"Then what are you waiting for, Tadashi? Go take her to meet your brother."

We both smiled to her before he took me up to the part of their apartment where he and his brother had beds.

"Hiro, it's your brother. You decent?" Tadashi asked before he'd let me up.

"Yeah, just getting ready to go," a voice answered. It sounded very young, like he was pre-pubescent.

Once he answered, Tadashi brought me up. The room was so cool.

"Hiro, this is Neva," He said with a smile.

"So this is the girl you've been talking about? Did you finally do it?" Hiro replied, looking up from his work.

"Yeah, yeah, I did," Tadashi smiled sheepishly.

"So you're happy?"

"Yeah, I am."

"And you, Neva?" Hiro turned to me.

"Well, yeah. I mean, I've liked your brother for a while now," I mumbled.

Hiro just nodded before going back to his robot. For botfighting, Tadashi told me that. He took me to his part of the room and I ended up falling asleep on the floor. My parents didn't care, they never had.
