Chapter: 1

Albus Severus Potter smiled and waved at his family as the Hogwarts Express pulled away. His little sister Lily and his younger cousin Hugo waved at him along with his parents, and his aunt and uncle. As the train pulled and he could no longer see them, he looked in front of him, at his older brother James, and his two cousins, Freddie and Roxy. Beside him was his other cousin Rose. It was his, hers, and Roxy's first year going to Hogwarts, and James' and Freddie's third.

"Are you nervous?" James asks his younger brother. He had been teasing him earlier about what house he'd get, but he really did care about his brother.

Al shakes his head and smiles. His dad had talked to him before he left, and he really didn't feel nervous at all anymore. Maybe still a little, but not even close to what he was. "Nope." He says.

James raises an eyebrow. "Really? You seemed pretty nervous before."

"I was then, but I'm fine now." He says smiling.

He shrugs and smiles. "Okay then."

Rose smiles at the fact that her cousin wasn't nervous anymore. She looks over at he compartment next to theirs, and sees a boy who her father pointed out to be Scorpius Malfoy. She frowned slightly. He looked rather lonely. Al was looking at the same thing. Him and Rose stood up. "I think I'm going to move. See you at Hogwarts." Rose says.

Al nods. "I'm going to go with her." He says, and with that him and Rose walked out of the compartment. The walked over to the other, and opened the door slightly. "Mind if we sit here?" He asks.

A small smile appears on Scorpius's face. "Not at all." He says. The two nod, and sit down. He had seen the two only a few times before, but they had never spoken. They already knew each other's names, so it seems like they all made a silent agreement to skip introductions. "So what house do you think you'll be in?" He asks them.

"I'll probably be in either Gryffindor or Ravenclaw." Rose says.

"I'm not sure." Al says, "Gryffindor probably though."

"I really don't know either." Scorpius says, "Everyone in my family expects Slytherin, but I don't know if that's me.. It kind of is, but.." He sighs. "I don't know.." He frowns slightly.

"It's okay." Al says, trying to cheer him up. "You never know what you might get."

"Yea." Rose says. He nods slightly and smiles. They smile.

After a while, a plump witch comes by. "Anything from the trolley?" She asks. The three nod. They get a couple of chocolate frogs, and some Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans.

Al makes a face as he eats a bean. "What is it?" Rose asks.

"I got vomit flavor!" He says. They laugh, and he joins in. He picks up a chocolate frog, and opens it up. The frog hops out, and flies out the window. He laughs, knowing the asks thing happened to his dad in his first year. It picks up the card and looks at it. He grins. He got his dad.

Scorpius looks out the window and grins. "Look!" He says. They look out, and see Hogwarts.

"It's beautiful." Rose says, and the boys nod. They stand up as the train stops, and push through the crowd off the train.

"Firs' years! Over 'ere!" They hear Hagrid call. They follow his voice and the other first years towards the boats. Al glances at James, who was already on a carriage with Freddie, Alice Longbottom, Luke Wood, and Lauren Finnegan.

"Come on, Al." Rose says, getting his attention. The three get into a boat. Two more climb in after them. A boy with dark skin, and short black hair, and a girl with long brown hair back in a braid.

Al looks over at them. "Hi." He says. "I'm Albus Potter."

The girl smiles shyly. "I'm Brianna Finnegan." She says.

"I'm Alex Thomas." The boy says.

"Nice to meet you." Al says and smiles. He looks back at the front, and sees they had already arrived at the castle. He climbed out of the boat, after the others. He follows the other first years into the castle. They enter the castle, and look up at Headmistress McGonnagal.

"In a few minutes, you will go through these doors and join your fellow classmates." She begins. "But before that, you will get sorted into one of the four houses. Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin." The children nod, and McGonnagal leads them into the great hall. She walks up to the platform and gives the usual welcoming speech, then, the sorting begins.
