I sat on the velvet cushion my gaze falling onto the antique piano in front of me, I traced the ivory keys gently with my hand unaware of your presence in the room. I began to play as you strode across the dimly lit ballroom floor. I wasn't meant to be here, but neither were you. Although who was stopping us? The once beautiful manor has been abandoned for around a year but still as pristine as it was long ago but no one would buy it; what I didn't expect was someone else to be here with me. The candlelight cast an orange glow onto the keys as I focused on getting the soft melody correct. That was until you sat next to me and my hand slipped causing a harsh racket. "Shh, it's just me" he whispered and my heart slowed down. I wanted to question why you of all people were here but you silenced me with your slender fingers before resuming the song I was playing. I would say "you play?" But the music was too mesmerizing, I fell out of what seemed like a trance and joined you. Together we filled the silence, together we played one of the most beautiful pieces of music, together we were with each other and that's all that mattered.
